from Noell: Let me start by making it perfectly clear I am not a prudish person, I'm very open-minded, I love an adventure, doing new things and will try almost anything at least once. That being said, I must confess that I am a teeny bit on the shy side of letting it all out as I have some personal insecurities about my body image. I've had struggles with my weight throughout my entire life. I guess it started when my own mother gave me the nickname of "Shamu" in my early teens. While I've never been horribly overweight, more on the chunky side of things, there's a part of me that will always assume I'm still the fat girl, no matter what the numbers on the scale or the size of my pants reads. Let me get to the point: I will more than likely NOT be partaking in the "topless" option of Temptations. I will definitely participate in many of the activities and I'm going on the Boobs Cruise on March 4th. I will most definitely NOT be offended by all of the other women who have the guts and confidence to strut their stuff and show off the girls with pride, I'm jealous of you! I guess what I'm trying to say is this: if you see me around the sexy pool, with my bikini top ON, please don't assume I'm a stick in the mud, or that I don't like to have fun or a good time (because I do!). I'll be the one with the floating inflatable beer pong table PS - my husband is extremely disappointed in my strong opinion to stay fully clothed in my bikini while at the pool, however I made this comment to him, "My plan is to keep my top on the whole vacation, however, ya never know what might happen if I get too many long islands in me!"
And there is nothing wrong with that. No one expects you to go topless, do what makes you feel comfortable, and have a great time most of all.
You're not going to be alone in your actions...not that it should matter anyways. There are people of all shapes and sizes...topless and not. You do what feels comfortable to you. Who knows maybe you will want to treat your hubby to a bit of a show on day near the pool. D
Let me just say that is one of the reasons we love going to TTR is how friendly & NONjudgemental the people are. If you choose to keep you're top on, but still enjoy the atmosphere,participate in the games, like to drink, meet new people & have fun then trust me you will fit right in & have the time of you're life! I for one love the freedom of being able to go topless & loved going fully nude at Desire, but thats just me & I know its not for everyone. You will see people of all shapes & sizes at TTR & its not a beauty contest (well unless youre in the Miss Temptation contest i guess which I choose never to participate in), & no one is there to judge anyone. I think if this is youre first time there then you will be pleasantly surprised how fast those insecurities melt away when you see that the saying "no one knows you & no one gives a shit" really is true! Thanks for sharing...I would like to say this.... You are not alone. I am sure almost every woman out there has body issues of some kind, perhaps it isn't her breasts but maybe her stomach, or her ass, or her hips...the list goes on. I remember when my breasts where a sore spot for me. At the time I was a size A and refused to take my bra off with a man until I was in my late 20's. Crazy right? I went to Cuba in my mid twenties and refused to take my bikini top off even though I was hanging out with some crazy brit's that would bare all if the resort would have let them lol. I was 32 when I went topless for the first time and it truly was one of the most incredible experiences I have ever had. I felt free, confident, exhilarated. Now I by no means have the best breasts - although personally I think they kick ass - but some prefer larger and there are parts of my body that I cringe at. I read about the micro bikinis woman will be wearing and like you, think I could never do that! I am stretching myself this trip though because although I might not have the best body, I don't have the worst either. Some woman will look at my curves and wish they had them while I look at a woman's flat stomach and wish I had that. There comes a point where one just has to embrace what we have. Even at my thinnest I wanted to lose weight. At the end of the day though, do what makes you comfortable just don't miss a great experience that will actually give you more confidence than you think by not doing it. You may surprise yourself. Oh and btw you won't be the only one who has their top on, I was at Temptations in Cabo last year with my GF and she left hers on the whole time along with plenty of others
Agree with all points above. Also, from personal experience, I can say that you may head off with full intentions not to take your top off, but change your mind once you see how truly non-judgemental the great people at TTR are. I'm a big girl (not just chunky but actually fat!), and I found that I felt comfortable with top off at the quiet pool, but not so comfortable at the sexy pool.
Enjoy your vacations and put your fears aside. Unlike the real world Temptations is a place where the vast majority of people will not judge you for taking your top on or leaving it on. RELAX.....................it's all good. Shannon
We just returned from our first visit and one aspect that made us fall in love with TTR was there was no judgement from anyone and people there come in all shapes, sizes and ages. My wife wasn't thinking she would be removing her top as she has had weight issues and gone through three pregnancies in the past decade...yet on our second day (and the rest of the trip) her top was off and she loved it With that said, nobody ever thinks anything different of anyone who keeps their top on so if that's what you want to do, do it! I'd say the topless rate at the sexy pool during our visit (we never hung out at the quiet pool) was maybe in the 65% range which means one out of every three women was wearing a top. Either way you won't stick out and either way you won't be judged. One last note, if you are thinking maybe of trying it, the Boobs Cruise is the perfect place. Instead of being at the pool with hundreds of people, you are on a boat with 60. And those 60 are Cancuncare.com people whom are all very cool, down to earth, party people that you will feel comfortable around as soon as you meet them.
