How many mosquitoes are in Cancun?
Ok first let me say, we are canadian, we have them everywhere!
Unfortunately, some people are just magnets and my other half gets bitten ten times more than the average person if there is 1 it will find him.

We love los cabo as we have never encountered any mosquitoe, sand flea or any bug bite whatsoever.
My question, is Cancun similar to cabo or are there bitting bugs that only affect 2% of the population?
Its hard to be romantic with someone covered in Deet the entire vacation :icon_neutral: and since cabo has been wonderful, its tough to give that up.

How would he fair in Cancun? or Should I just leave him at home? lol:wink3:

I'm the type of person where if there is one mosquitoe, black fly or flea in the room, it will find me and leave everyone else alone. I was in Cancun the end of January and I didn't have any problems getting bit.

I too have never had a problem and I am somewhat of a delicacy in the mosquito world.

My wife is in your 2%. She has on occasion got a few bites around the ankles but nothing serious but they do take a long time to heal.
May be it's the time of year haven't paid attention to that part.I believe OFF has a dry formula know, good luck finding it in the winter ,

To be honest, you really see very few bugs when in Cancun. As I have mentioned before, we have been there 7 times, and we rarely see mosquitoes if at all.

Twice a week my FB does yoga outside at KM 0 in the HZ, that's the entrance to Downtown/Hotel Zone. He comes home every night covered, head to toe in bites. That being said, I never heard anyone complain further in the Hotel Zone where it's more like Pleasantville.
As far as Sand flies. A couple weeks ago I was at the beach and about 5 of them did attack me.... just me.
I would never count it out 100%. We are in the tropics after all.

I went to Cancun In August last year and at the resort and in the city things were fine. But on the jungle tour..... while waitingfor our van to return us to the resort, I probably got 10 bites in 20 minutes!!! Soooo.... don't go in the jungle to just hang out??? Be on the moves at all times if in the jungle lol!! :icon_lol:
I also had mosquito spray on me while in the jungle but it did not help.
