Hello!! So looking forward to TTR in July/August!! We will be going to Cancun for 2 weeks at TTR. We went to Cancun last summer at a different hotel but only for a week. Last summer we went to Chichen Itza, Coco Bongo, ATV jungle tour, Underwater museum boat/ snorkel tour, went to market 28, got hair braided, took professional photos, went to playa delfines and explored downtown a bit. This year I want to try different things. This is what I have on the list: - Xel-Ha - Go to Isla Mujeres by ourselves - Boobs Cruise - Market 23 (not 28) - Go to the fish spa - maybe go to public beaches playa tortugas or chac mool to explore - eat at a restaurant outside of hotel zone - go to the movies if its rainy Any other suggestions?
to do's when you go to isla mujeres in the market zone down a sketchy looking back alley we found the most amazing greek restauraunt called olivia's beautiful garden style awesome food look for it u wont be dissapointed
Warning...TTR can be VERY addictive and may seriously interfere with your plans... Xel Ha and The Boob Cruise comes highly recommended from my perspective.:huepfen021: If you have not been to TTR before, you are going find this place EXTREMELY different and as you meet people it will become increasingly hard to leave the resort.
Not sure if you're into Bull Fighting but there is an arena close to TTR. I'm not into it as a rule but it has been a part of the Mexican/Spanish culture for hundres of years so therefore we plan to go this year. Part of travelling is trying to experience the culture and I'm sure this will be an interesting way of doing it. There's a fabulous authentic Mexican restaurant at the beginning of the downtown cancun area close to Senor Frogs that has the most amazing food!! Can't remember the name though ! I wouldn't use your bank card in Cancun though. My husband used his bank card while we were there and 6 weeks later our account was emptied! Luckily there was only about 800 in the account. Thankfully the bank covered this but did confirm that it was done in Cancun. Take cash with you ! Xplor was a disappointment - was a glorified amusement park if you ask me. Long line ups and screaming kids everywhere! 45 mintue bus ride with no air conditioning wasn't pleasant either! Hope this info helps you and you guys have a fabulous time in Cancun! Cheers, Sue
We did Isla Mujeres, Boobs Cruise, Market 28, Rio Steakhouse (over the road from resort), Pancho & Willys, and Senor Frogs outside of the resort on our last trip. Isla is fantastic and will plan to do that again - views by Hotel Avalon on the north side are just breathtaking. Boobs Cruise as well is an experience not to be missed. Rio Steakhouse over the road is very good and reasonably priced - nice to have a change of beer from Dos Equis! Market 28 - will not bother again. Too much hard selling, only got half way round and left because sick of the stall holders vying for your business for overpriced holiday charms. Pancho & Willys was rubbish - overpriced, boring, no karaoke on certain days, service slow. Senor Frogs was overcrowded, overpriced and had the same atmosphere as Paty O, which you can frequent for free! Planning a trip to a beach club type thing on our next stay, and maybe a trip into downtown to sample the local culture when I get bored of Dos Equis again!
Truer words have never been spoken....lol The only time we left the resort last year was to go on a booze cruise with a bunch of people....from the resort. Isla Mujeres was great, we found a little gem of a cantina along the beach, the service was great (we were the only ones there) and the view was perfect.
