Hello, traveling to cancun with my husband and 2 children (3 1/2 and 11 month old at time of travel) in end of april. We are staying at the westin lagunamar. Anyone ever stay there? Any tips or advice uncan give? Also, we need to make A trip to Walmart. Is it safe to go to Walmart with young children? I don't kno how safe downtown cancun is, also are the buses safe for children? Does walmart have bAby wayter, diapers, jars etc? Do they have american brand shampoos, toothpaste etc so i can leave that stuff behind?Any advice on where to eat? We only eat seafood. I need advice on how to keep my kids away from any sickness...any foods I should avoid for my son? Is the milk ok for him to drink? Any help on traveling there with kids would be much appreciTed.
WalMart is not in downtown Cancun, and it is completely safe to take a bus there with small children. Although if you book a private airport transfer with USA Transfers they will stop at the WalMart on the way to your hotel so you won't have to make a separate trip. They have everything your local WalMart has, just with different packaging. Are you doing an all-inclusive package?
Ok thanks! No we are staying at a timeshare resort so they dont have AI. I thought Walmart was Downtown. Where is it exactly? I know USA transfer can take us there but my husband doesnt know if he wants to leave all the lggage in the van while we are shopping so we will probably have to go out there the next morning. Anything else you can tell me? Is it fine for my son to eat the food outside of the resort maybe at another restaurant on the hotel strip or a local restuarant on the strip? I hear of so many stories of people getting sick and I just want to keep him away from any sickness.
The ''O'' is downtown and the ''X'' is approximately where WalMart is. The ''Z'' is where the airport is. I would not hesitate to leave your luggage in the vehicle with a driver from USA Transfers, they have a very good job and they are not going to do anything to hurt that.
there is a walmart by the "o" downtown. if you are in the hotel zone you would want to catch a R2 bus on the ocean side of kulkukan, not the lagoon side. tell the driver 'walmart' and he will tell you when to get off. walmart will be on the left side of the bus as you are traveling downtown. you will have to walk about a block after you get off the bus, not very far. when you are done shopping it is really easy to catch the bus back. when you go out of walmart turn left and walk to the street, turn left at the street without crossing it, go down about 30 meters to the bus stop and wait for a R2 bus. its fun and adventurous the first time to do this. you'll love it.
There are multiple Walmarts in DOWNTOWN Cancun, which is in the O of that map. None in the X. Like most tourists, don't confuse downtown, with the Party Zone. Taxi's and bus drivers may take you to the wrong place. There are no Walmarts in the Hotel Zone. Follow Jayg's directions
