How does a "regular" day at TTR go for you when you aren't planning on leaving the resort?

When do you wake up? What do you do next? Where do you like to eat? When do you run down to save a seat by the sexy pool? How long do you stay at pool/beach/etc? How much alcohol have you consumed by the end of the day lol? Pretty much a "regular' day at TTR for you....(if there is such a thing....)

Depending on how hungover we are we try to set the alarm to get up early to get chairs poolside. The success rate of getting up went down the longer we were there! Luckily we made lots of friends who reserved us chairs a lot of the days

We would get into the pool quite early and often we were waiting on the bar to open! We were always game to participate in the activities (my wife won the cocktail making competition, the Lingerie night outfit competition AND Miss Temptation!) and would drink through the day. I often played beach volleyball, football, table tennis, and sexy darts (which i managed to lose and you DONT want to lose sexy darts... take it from experience!)

We made it to the Gym every other day after breakfast.

A few times we would go and have a nap after the pool closed so we would not be too tired for the nightime entertainment. We had 1 or 2 early nights through necessity rather than choice!

We mostly stayed round the sexy pool through the days with the odd wander down to the beach. We tried most of the cocktails (electric lemonade recommemded!)

We managed to eat at the speciality restaurants quite a few times and afterward we would take part in or watch the night time activities and then of course end up at paty-o to dance, drink and hang out with friends.

2 weeks today until our return Whoop Whoop! (March 5 - 19)

Wake up at 5;50 am, head down and save seats at pool, over to Patty O's or back to room for a cup of coffee, out on deck to read while hubby sleeps a little longer...down for breakfast about 8 or 8:30, out to pool for a nap or reading til 10 and then start our arm curl exercises...No need to wait til 12 o'clock somewhere. haha. We hang out with our friends around the pool, play volleyball or some of the pool games, then lunch about 1 or 1:30, back to pool by 2 for games and participate in those activities and the craziness that usually starts about 4 or so, head up by 6 for dinner at 7 or so, then to the show for the night, then to Patty O's or Nice Shoes (wish they had dancing all night in there like use to--I could dance all night every night) then up to bed about 1-2 am depending on what is happening....then repeat the next day! Sometimes we shake it up with a walk along the beach after breakfast--How much do we drink? We have 2 "drinks" and then a bottle of water and the pace varies with the activity. If it rains, then throw a nap in there...
The great thing about vacation is that the routine can change and no times are really set in stone but this is just our average day. Oh I can't wait to get there!

One of us wakes up about 6-7 ish. We will go down to the pool and reserve a chair. (Don't be an R-tard and reserve a whole bunch.. you'll likely need half of what you think. We take one chair for the two of us and take turns.. you're usually in the pool more than in the chair anyway. Be considerate. Chairs at the pool are a premium and it's a shame to see so many of them open with towels on them all day long when someone else could really use them.)

Then, it's back to bed until about 9. Get up, throw on swim trunks and T shirt / tiny bikini with cover up, go get breakfast. (Fill up on mimosas).

Straight to the pool. Start out easy on the booze. Chat with people.. get another drink.. chat some more. Derek usually takes off for a walk around the resort/beach for about an hour to do some "sightseeing" (?). Kelsey usually falls asleep in a lounger for this hour and works on the tan. By the time Derek comes back, usually the shots start flowing pretty heavy.

At around 1pm, we'll grab a bite either at the buffet or at the TexMex place. Back to the pool. Start drinking our faces off.

Around 4ish, we usually head back to the room and.. nap. Or something. Around 7 ish, we're usually up to stumble to a restaurant for dinner. After that, it's back to the room and get ready for whatever sort of theme night it is that night. Partake in the activities, and whenever Kelsey's no longer able to keep her balance in her heels, we head back to the room and call it a night.. because it starts all over again at 6 or 7 the next morning.

We really do try to get a nap for a couple hours in the late afternoon. It's good to recharge the batteries a little bit. A small siesta goes a long way when trying to pace yourself a little.. because let's face it.. no matter how long your stay is, it's never enough. Why waste a bunch of the time being ill from hangovers and no sleep? To me, there's nothing worse than barfing and then feeling like shit in 80-90 degree temperature with high humidity. In that environment, it's hard to get back into game shape and you feel like you've really wasted your vacation.

Anyway, that's a typical on-the-resort run-of-the-mill sorta day for us.

    D&K

If your goal is to just chill and destress from normal life, a typical day at TTR will help do that! We are normally in Pacific time and thought we would have trouble getting up early, but were usually up by 7 or 8am - one morning I was up to get pictures of the sunrise, that never happens at home!

We didn't reserve the chairs, because we knew so many people from Cancuncare who would be hanging by the pool that we would just come down there with our towels and bag and put them under a friend's chair. We didn't really sit on the chairs, we sat in the pool. But, if you don't know anyone else yet, I recommend going down to reserve a chair, but I agree with the other post, don't be selfish about it! If you don't like loud music, reserve a chair on the far side of the pool, away from the speakers. If you are sitting by the buffet place, you won't be able to hear anything but the music.

We would go down for breakfast around 8 or 9 most days, have them make us an omelette and relax in the buffet. This is also when I would use the wifi with my iPhone and see what the kids were doing on Facebook and upload any pictures I had taken to make my friends at home green with envy :)

We would walk around the beach and sexy pool after that to see what was going on, and that was usually a good time to get our towels (if we didn't already) because sometimes they run out on a really sunny day. We would go back to the room and change into swimming attire, then go down to the sexy pool.

If you haven't gotten dinner reservations yet, you will need to do that at 10am at the seafood place. Sometimes the line is long and it sucks - so if there are more than about 10 people in line, re-evaluate whether you must have reservations that night, or if you can muddle through and eat somewhere else, then try the next morning. If you get there right at 10am, you should be ok. Make reservations for as many days as they will let you (3-4 days out).

We would then go to the sexy pool and hang out, after getting a drink at the bar. You can pretty much hang there all day. Take the drinking slow at first, no point being ripped at 1pm when there is a long day ahead :) They have a schedule of events on the board at the pool, and places to sign up for contests and stuff. Sometimes they have pool workouts at noon, but you can still be in the pool if they are doing that.

FYI, the jetted areas of the sexy pool are not heated more than the rest of the pool. I thought they would be hot jacuzzis, but they were not. That is the same with the quiet pool. Also, the quiet pool temperature is colder than the sexy pool. I don't even want to imagine why that is, would rather be in denial on those facts ...

I've said this before, but I do really recommend getting some water shoes for long days in the pool. I saw people who got cuts on their feet from sharp tile edges, and I was one of those drunk people who slipped more than once getting out of the sexy pool, one time falling flat on my face (thankfully I was not badly hurt - and no face damage!). The sunblock in the pool can make the really shallow part VERY slippery. If the area around the pool is wet, that is also very slippery. The next time I go, I will be wearing water shoes in the pool with some grip to them. My husband had those on, and he didn't slip once!

We ate in the Tex-Mex place for lunch always, the buffet food was marginal at best outside of breakfast. If you go in the Tex-Mex place for lunch, make sure you are not dripping wet from the pool, they don't like that! Get out of the pool for a little bit before going to eat, dry off a bit and don't have wet feet.

I am really not a nap person, but my husband is. He would go back to the room to sleep later in the afternoon. I would go back around 5-6 to take a shower and chill out a bit before dinner.

We would make reservations between 7-8, then go to eat, then go back to the room to get ready for whatever was going on in Paty O's. Paty O's doesn't really get going with more than just being a bar until after 10 or 11 at night. Sometimes stuff was going on in Nice Shoes, but we didn't know about it until after it happened when we were there in January. No biggie, just had a good time with what we did do, and the theme nights are fun! Party as late as you want - the place is open all night.

Wake up around 630 or 700 and get ready for the gym. On the way I save chairs for us and hit the gym for a couple hours. Then back shower, pick a bikini, eat breakfast and we both head to the pool usually around 830 am. Hang out chatting until the bar open and then start the drinking. It doesn't take long to get loaded and around 1:00 pm we head for lunch at margaritta's. After we come back to the sexy pool and watch the 200 pm show. Drinking more and more until well after 7:00 pm. We head back to the room, he naps and I shower and get ready for supper. We head for supper and then to paty's to dance after drinking until well into the morning usually around 300 am. Start it all over again the next day.
