We find a trip to walmart totally worth it. We always go the 1st morning after we arrive (I think taking the transfer there would be a waste of money). It's great to go to walmart and pick up supplies for the room...we're there for 2 weeks so we find it worth the time to take the bus to walmart and get the stuff. Even last April when we were there for just 1 week we found it worthwhile.

I don't use my credit card in Mexico unless it is absolutely necessary or within the resort. But that's just me.....

I use the small store at the end of the parking lot most every day to buy the newspaper. They also sell cheap sunglasses cheaply if you lose yours. For small purchases this store is great & saves time though you do pay more. Trip to Walmart takes care of larger purchases.

Fun to take a look with Googlemaps. Not sure how recent they were taken but it really makes it easy to see how close the stuff is. We cant wait to be there already for our first time!

    Laundry

As of last Thursday, the laundry mat just outside of Temptations was out of service.

I managed to find another laundry a short walk down the street, it's called "Happy Wash" I think, right by the Calypso Hotel. For $150 pesos, they did a whole bag of laundry. You drop it off, and pick it up later that day. It was much cheaper and quicker than the hotel. But it is about a 5 minute walk down the street.

After 4-5 days at the resort, my clothes start getting a little gamey, and I like to come home with fresh clothes. I'm sure the people next to me on the plane appreciate it too!

Which way do you turn when you go out of the resort, to the left or to the right?

    Thanks,

I agree. I just bring one credit card in case of emergencies. I hear the fees charged to use ccards are really high in Mexico. Ditto (or perhaps worse) is using a bank machine to withdraw cash. I saw someone complaining on Tripadvisor.com that it cost them $20 or $30 to withdraw $100. I just bring a ton of U.S. cash and keep it in the room safe.

I found the store across the street to be extremely expensive for booze. I was craving some Bailey's, and they wanted $42 or $46 for a bottle 1/2 or 2/3rds the size of the one you can buy in the duty free shop on your way out of Mexico for $24.

We would rather spend a little more $ across the street than waste valuable vacation time at Wally World. We are only there for a week and are not fussy. We can eat and drink what TTR offers We usually do run across the street for some vodka, though.

It's all what is important to you. Time, money or snacks?
