Is it geeky to admit I LOVE packing? I've done 7 days in a carry-on and big purse...

    1. Get those vacuum-seal storage bags (Target and Walmart have them.) I pack one and leave one empty--then I stuff the dirty things in that one as I go so the sand and goop don't get into the clean stuff.

    2. To keep stuff from wrinkling, layer a T-shirt, a dress shirt, then another T. Fold the sleeves in, then roll the 3 up together--the one in the middle shouldn't wrinkle too bad.

    3. Minimum for 7 days I'd take 3 pairs of shorts, 4 shirts, 3 swim suits, 3 pairs of shoes (sandals, night, and flip-flops) and 3-4 sundresses that I can use as cover-ups, casual in the day, then dress up at night with different shoes and jewelry, usually. And theme night stuff.

    4. I'd think one pair of slacks and 2-3 nice shirts would do for the guys. I haven't seen them call anyone out, but you may want to bring a pair of closed-toe shoes just in case.

    5. My best packing advice: the sluttier you clothes, the less space they take up in the suitcase!:flash:

    More good advice. Thanks, Summerbum!

I do pack for Tom. I travel more than he does and I am better at it. He is too busy trying to finish up work and doesn't have the time to pack. I can only imagine what would go in his bag if he did pack. :icon_eek: He does not mind asking me, "Honey, what do you want me to wear tonight". :xyxthumbs:

I am procrastinating. Clothes are laid out on the bed with jewelry. Better get packing......HA!

Yep, been to Mexico 4 times now and have always gotten by with carryons only, even did 7 days once. In college Janet went to Europe for a class for 3 weeks and was only allowed 1 carry on for the entire trip, so she learned early, and taught me everything I know. I am sure she will be happy to discuss it over drinks next week. See you on Wednesday!!:clappyinghappy:

Jeff...do you guys just carry on? That is awesome but sounds a little crazy to me. Safe travels and see you in a few days.[/QUOTE]

    Seriously?

Don't take anything that wouldn't fit in your guy's pocket if you get adventourous except shoes!

    You'll overpack regardless!

We way overpacked last year for our 7 night stay...didn't even see half of what was in the suitcase until we unpacked when we arrived home. We had 2 suitcases and a carry on!!!! We are going for 2 weeks this year and we can def get by with one suitcase and one carryon. I lived in my bikini (usually just bottoms) during the day and dresses at night...casual stuff like shorts and tees didn't leave the suitcase. Terry just wore shorts/swim trunks during the day and linen pants at night with button down shirts. Trust me..do not pack more than one suitcase per couple for 7 days or less!

Bags are packed. We are each allowed one checked bag. One weighs 34.6 lbs and the other weighs 37.2 lbs. I still have a carry-on with magazines, books and iPads. I evenly distributed my 6 pairs of shoes in both suitcases. Cans of pop weigh a lot. I like to surprise Tom with his addiction....diet dew but only put 4 in the bag. May add a couple more.

I am sure I still over packed but i can tell it's better than last year!

Wow! Only 6 pairs of shoes...you showed admirable restraint. I think I packed 11 pairs last trip, and it will be the same in April. Women should def be entitled to a greater baggage allowance than men.
