    Hi everyone new on here,

Me and some friends are coming for 2 weeks in April.
We're a little confused about what currency to bring.
Our travel agents in the UK say to bring pesos. But most prices for nightclubs and tours etc. on this website are quoted in dollars.

Which shall I bring? Or shall I bring both (which I don't really want to do).

any info would be great. thanks

Either is fine. But as a Brit, if you only want to bring one, bring Pesos.

Using USD means you'll be subject to rounding (in the merchants favour) whenever you use them to buy something priced in Pesos.

    Hi, Justjimmy here.

I have just got to chime in.

I have read so many threads about pesos-US dollars- CN dollars-pounds...
    It drives me crazy!

    Here's what we do.
We bring a roll of $1 bills for tips each way.
After that we exchange at our hotel or use an ATM. After that it's all pesos.
Our mentality is no matter the actual exchange rate, we just say to ourselves,
" Hey, 10 pesos = $1.00" I know today it's 11.69 but so what. If you put it in your head that $10p=$1us and you buy something for $10p it costs you LESS than $1 us.
If anyone is that concerned about a few pennies here and there, maybe you can"t afford a vacation.

    Well, that's my 2 cents!

    Jimmy

Well said Justjimmy. They love American money so tips in American means more to them we have found. I know tips are included in your all-inclusive vacation if you chose one, but they will love it if you tip them say $5 the first time you order a drink. Believe me, they will remember you the rest of the time you are there.
