Hey everyone we are wondering how the restaurants work at this resort. How many times can you eat at these? I assume you must make reservations for the ones you would like to eat at. Can you buy nights if you choose or bribe someone? The bribe thing worked very well in Cuba last year. Where at the resort do you book? If you can’t book additional nights can someone recommend a good steak or seafood place close to the resort ?
    Thanks !!

Reservations only needed at two places. Sea food and tex mex dont require rev. you can eat at them as many times as you want. We dont eat away from hotel.

You can make reservations up to 3 days ahead, and that line can get long so get all the reservations over with that you can at one time.

My husband liked the Asian place the best, I think both the Asian and Italian places are good, but not necessarily great for every night - sometimes the other places are perfect for when you don't want to be bound by a specific time to eat.

I like the Tex-Mex place, and ask them for the habanero salsa if you love hot and spicy salsa - it is awesome!

We luv'd the Village Wok (Asian - reservation needed) & the Bellavista (no reservation needed) restaurants. The Il Piacere (Italian - reservation needed) restaurant had okay food, but the highlight for us was the "Sexy Coffee" ... that is a must try - it's an experience so make sure you take a camera. All 3 are worth a try! The Bellavista is where you will need to line up in order to make reservations for both restaurants. Enjoy!! :xyxthumbs:

I agree - the reservation restaurants are good, but you wouldn't want to book every night. Sometimes I loved just nipping into the buffet restaurant, grabbing a quick bite, say 15 mins, then straight out to the bars! In the restaurants, you're limited to the time you've booked to get your food, and it'll take at least an hour to be served and eat the full 3 courses.

Once we went to the Tex Mex about 8:30pm (been on a trip all day) and there was a huge queue. A couple went up to the reservationist (sorry don't know what their official name is), and discreetly handed a tip - he got them a table straight away, so I think bribing in that situation probably does go in your favour.

We are arriving around 3pm on Wednesday and I believe I read somewhere that the reservations happen in the AM, correct? So day one, we just do tex-mex or seafood and then make reservations Thursday morning? Is there one line for both restaurants? Can one person make reservations for four? Sounds like one wait in line will get you three days of reservations...does that begin with the day you make the reservations or the next day? Thanks!

Yes, there is just one line for both restaurants. You can make reservations for at least four people, I'm not sure about more than that. It does alow you to make reservations for three nights including the day you make the reservations but sometimes the first night the times available are scarce, very early or very late. I've found that if you get in line shortly before 10:00am the line is not very long and it doesn't take to long. Hope this answers you questions.

This May (like last) we arrive in the afternoon for only a four night stay. Luckily, last trip we met some great people that included us in their reservations. Without these friends from cancuncare we would not have been able to eat in those restaurants that required reservations, as the resort was packed and the reservations for all our nights there were already completely booked! I think this happens because so many guests stay for several weeks at a time, which leaves those of us there for a short stay at a definite disadvantage. (Guess we could try the "tipping/bribing" this trip someone mentioned!)
