Or the remake of Dr Hook's "Alice" repeated every 30 minutes??? Really? It was stuck in my head even after we landed back at home.
Early in the morning, say, 9am - 11am, they were playing a mix of everything by the sexy pool on some days, and it was really fun - heard some stuff I'd not heard in years. BUT...they were doing this mash-up thing where they only played like 30 seconds or so of each song and then went into the next one. That got really annoying after about half an hour. Great they were playing a mix of stuff, but why not play the whole song, not just a 30 second clip of it? I really don't understand the music choice. Fair enough in the evening, but all day every day too? What is wrong with playing a bit of variety in the day?
I havent been to TTR yet so I cant comment on the music. But in my travels it seems that most places run the same lame songs over and over again where indigenous music would be better appreciated. And if you ask if there are other cd's they could play they usually kindly say with a smile "yes" and keep playing the same old songs . Anyways...after a few dozen shots the "Archies" may sound good so what the heck. The music Im sure wont affect the party atmosphere.
Does it seem weird to anyone else that they don't take requests? It seems that resorts would bend over backwards to accommodate the guests' tastes, but that doesn't seem to be the case anywhere we've been. I'm thinking of bringing a waterproof ipod dock this time. Sultryfox, I'm with you on the LMFAO. Made me want to kick a baby after the 1287th time!!!!
The music kept us away from the sexy pool and Patty O's. We aren't late night people but even if we were the music would keep us away. Spent our time at the beach. There was a guy at the Bikini bar most evenings with an ipod dock setup playing much better music plus we liked the bartenders there ( Pedro).
I will give TTR credit in that they have changed their music. They used to only play techno all day long every day at the sexy pool (this was 2 years ago). That got very old very fast. Last time we were there we did like the music in the morning. The afternoon music was hit or miss. We really didn't like the 30 second songs either.
