We will be going to TTR in July. My travel agent asked what building and room we would like. Any suggestions would be great!

Stay away from Patty O's if you want to sleep at night at all. If you get a room there make sure you have earplugs. LOL

We had a room on second floor next to patty o's. It wasn't bad but we usually didn't retire until at least 3am. Close to the sexy pool too. I think it was 2209.

Looking at my water-warped map here:

    - The 1000s surround the Quiet Pool and its courtyard. I believe the jacuzzi rooms are also in the 1000s.

    - The 2000s surround Paty'O. Bring earplugs.

    - The 3000s overlook the Sexy Pool. We think the rule should be that if you stay here, you are required to provide at least one balcony performance.

    - The 4000s overlook Blvd Kukulcan (the street). If you're into that sort of thing.

    - The 5000s are off on their own, with a courtyard where absolutely nothing happens. They're good for those who occasionally want to sleep.

The last couple of times we've been in the 5200 block and think it's fantastic. The rooms are a good size, lots of storage and the vanity countertop goes all the way across the room...great for spreading all the junk out.

We really enjoyed the 5000 block too. I would recommend the 5000 block if you want to get some sleep at night.

Our first visit we stayed very close to Nice Shoes. I thought it would be quiet during the late hours, but it was far from quiet. There were lots of loud people and the long hallway just amplified the noise.

The first time we went, we stayed in the 4000 building on the other side of the cigar bar. Our private balcony (off our room) overlooked the street and parking lot. We were on the top floor and almost to the far end of the building and resort. The entrance to our room was done through a long outdoor balcony that ran the length of the building. It was very quiet and after the 2nd day, we had no neighbors. The wife and I would take our chairs out and sit on the "public" outdoor balcony naked and have a drink. The view looked out over the Albatross' boat docks and the ocean. It was nice to sit there and relax after hanging out at the sexy pool all day or after :aktion031::bj::69:. Might be too quiet for some but I think the next time we go, we'll prolly request that same area.

On both visits, we've had 4304 and 4307 respectively. Being on the 3rd floor or higher of the 4000 building gets you a GREAT view of the lagoon and NO view of the street, since you're above the palm trees! BEAUTIFUL sunsets, too, and a great place to sit (or not sit still) naked on the balcony. The rooms are super quiet, and 4307 especially so, since it was the last room of the hallway.
Only drawback is that it's a 30 second walk to the sexy pool instead of 20 seconds like from the 5000 block, hahaha!

BTW: rooms throughout seem to have got brand new mattresses, with pillow-tops. They are VERY comfortable now and much, much better than the concrete slabs they had in 2011!!

If your getting a jacuzzi room, we just stayed in 1105 and we thought it was a perfect location. Patio faces the quiet pool and the door is right around the corner from the Tex Mex resaurant and the sports pool.
