What the heck happened to separation of church and state? Here is a great example of a state run by religion. Iran! To be totally up front... I am an atheist. I have learned too much to be anything else. Being an atheist really isn't that different from being a Christian. The only thing that separates you is the belief in one god. A professed Christian has already decided that all the other "gods" worshiped by people now and throughout history are "false". Odin? Myth. Zeus? Myth. Muslim? Wrong. Buddha? Wrong. Jewish? Right god but denies the messiah. All the thousands of gods and religions throughout human history are false except the one I was taught as a child. Adults also taught me that Santa and the Tooth Fairy were real too but they admitted their deception eventually. I used to think...what harm is it to let people have the comfort of their faith? Well, idiots like Perry and his advisors are a good example of what harm it can be. Ignore all the other ridiculous "laws" set down in the bible...but homosexuality is an abomination. Do you know you are entitled to sell your daughter into slavery? And she can't "go free", as male slaves can. Exodus 21:7 Leviticus, the same book that condemns homosexuality, also states that you are allowed to own slaves provided they are from a neighboring country. Lev. 25:44. (A little worried about pointing this one out...as a Canadian...lol) Got a neighbor who works on the sabbath? He needs to be put to death. Exodus 35:2 Here's a good one. Matthew 24:22. For the sake of the "elect" or "chosen ones" god will cut the allotted time short lest no-one on earth be saved or survive. So.. go ahead and start a nuclear war. God is expecting that and will come to the rescue. Rapture. To bad for the "non-believers". Got brought up and taught in the wrong part of the world by the wrong parents. Nice god, huh? If you are a Republican because you agree with fiscal policy, defence, whatever the political reason...fine. Amen. We all come from different faiths, political views, sexual orientations, or whatever. Please, for the sake of us all, let's make Cancuncare about people from all backgrounds coming together to make friends and have a great time. I respect all opinions and beliefs, whether I agree with them or not. Please don't attempt to push your beliefs on others in this forum. This isn't a place for a political rant. There are plenty of other sites where that would be much more welcome. Thanks.

Brewster - I COULDN´T AGREE MORE. I am apalled. Your right, religion has absolutely no place in politics!! And it makes me sick when religious enthusiasts use religion as a tool to discriminate!! I believe everyone is entitled to freedom of religion, but in my opinon I will never understand something that has caused countless wars in the world and encourages distorted views of human rights. Not to mention that gays serving in the military?!? (it´s their GOD given right! no pun intended).... has NOTHING to do with this ¨war on religion¨that Rick Perry has single handly invented in his mind. The fact that he can compare crucial human rights equality issues with the name of a holiday decoration is blasphemous, if not insulting to say the least!

Maybe one sip too many on that whiskey bottle, hehe And I believe Palin also had some less than great moments about "Gods" involvement in the invasions? Its like a Comedy Central "Best of" data bank.
