    We prefer Los Cabos

We have been to both and much prefer Los Cabos.

The resort is newer and much nicer.

Without Chino's at Cancun we will never go there again as he was the best part of Cancun.

The beach is beautifull in Los Cabos and an eye sore in Cancun.

The rooftop hot tub although a little creepy at times in real nice with an excellent view of the ocean.

If you want a quiet vacation at an intimate resort with adult type entertainment at a reasonable price then we vote for Los Cabos.

We will be there for our third time in January the only thing that Cancun has that is a little bit better than Los Cabos is the food and just by a little bit.

    Our opinions.

I am positive that with each week the vibe changes as it does at any resort.. I dont think Brewster gave it a bad review..I think he was fair and didnt bash it, just stated what our experience was.. what we liked and didnt like..and tried to show the differences in the 2 resorts, we didnt hate it.

Maybe some people reading this think it was just us or our group but we did I think, 5 of our own theme nights, people would come take pictures of us and then walk away..haha!! we were the only ones..no one really bothered with the resort themes most people left the main bar after the entertainment staff left..and Bruce played guitar one night..any time we were at the hot tub later in the evening not very many were there and the disco was closed.. so where was everyone .. ahah!!

We did the Glass bottom boat tour with our friends, had lunch and drinks there, that was a great day!

We just found it different and more comparable to a regular resort except for being topless ..which isnt a bad thing.

I say its compares to Temptation Cancun in name only. Like Brewster mentioned it would be way more fun for couples and or groups that want to travel together..

We really are not trying to scare people off or give it a bad review.. there were good and bad things about it for us. There are very few trip reports for TTR Cabo so we thought we would try to give an honest opinion of our trip..

WOW...agree with so much of what you said. We did a trip report after our trip to Cabo in 2010 stating what OUR experience was. But what we found after posting our report was people getting upset with our opinion or experience, seriously it's our opinion.

It's not a competition over which resort is better, you like what you like. And if we all like the same experience on vacation we would be in trouble, we would all end up at the same location. To some food is important, to others it's the pool, or the room, or the entertainment, the point being is we all like different things.

One of the points of these trip reports and this website all together is to help others make an informed decision regarding how to spend their hard-earned vacation money, don't take it personal if others don't agree with you on how to spend YOUR vacation money. We are all REAL people who just want to have a good time!

I didn't think your trip report was unfair , there were a lot of true points.

I only differ with you on the food and paty o's

I have only been sick once in Mexico and that was in cancun ,I think from a late night burger. I wouldn't want that for my worst enemy

Not sure about other people but when we go to cancun , paty o's clears out around 10 and it's not very good. When you think about it's pretty smart of the resort. Clear out 3/4s of the resort from 10 at night on. Prime drinking time , saving a crap load of money on booze

We like both resorts , but do like cabo better

    melissa/ron

certainly know you guys know how to have a great time as we have had some fun in cancun with you two :).....certainly know how you guys feel about the two resorts and how they stack up and in many cases completely agree with you guys and your assesment.....with a few different takes of course :)

the resorts are only alike in name - no question about it

i think what some are saying is that (not any fault of your honest reports and certainly not brewsters) is that some people form impressions that may keep others from going and experiencing cabo

truth of the matter is - after you guys went and made your report i was even second guessing our decision to go there - just ask t - i was like if ron and melissa did not like it then we are certainly not going to like it either

from cancun back in the day with ron
    [IMG]

i could not have been more wrong - we feel in love with the beauty of the place immediatley and the truth be told - i am not sure we would ever go back to cancun - other than for a special deal for one of our friends...for us cabo is just that much better

the reality is even like minded fun people experience things differently and what is sexy for one may be sleazy for others and what is laid back for one may be just plain boring to others.

by all means honest trip reports are fair :) and they help people in making decisions where to spend their valuable vacation time - i have certainly tried to be fair in my assesment of los cabos and have even backed away from inviting people (even best friends) whom i think may prefer cancun over cabo

that would not be fair them :) so i dont push it - i just let them know where we are going

..........and that we are going to have ten times as much fun lol and then they get to decide without any pressure

I returned yesterday from Cabo and if I might add my 2 cents worth to this discussion. I was one of the singles and truthfully never felt like more of a 3rd wheel in my life. I tried to join into the groups but still felt like an outsider, that should not be taken as a criticism to any there but more as how I felt personally. The 360 night I was in the hot tub and there were only 2 couples in there until I packed it in at 0200. I heard after 3 it was packed. I tried Cabo for 2 reasons, 1 Chinos was not at Cancun, 2 the price changed for Cancun and Cabo was significantly cheaper. The highlight of the trip was Sunday night when Angie agreed to let me take her off-site for dinner which was a lot of fun and she is a fantastic girl. It is safe to say it is very unlikely that I will return to Cabo as single males are not very welcome. "unless you do cannonballs 3 times per day".

Well there you have it. The resorts are quite different in many ways but each has it's unique draw that will be appealling depending on what you are looking for.

As others have noted, the dynamics of a resort can change dramatically depending on the current guests.

What I tried to point out was that, regardless of the guests, it seemed to me that the layout of the courtyard bar and the placement of furniture/seating lent itself to a more intimate experience as opposed to Paty'O's where people seem more apt to wander about and mingle. That's a good thing or a bad thing depending on your personal point of view.

Personally I preferred the more laid back pool experience. I usually hide from the booming techno and loud games at the sexy pool in Cancun. It's very bad for hangovers...lol.
