So with the 2pm update Rina is now officially a Cat 1 Hurricane. The track hasn't been updated yet, the next track update is at 5pm (4pm Cancun time).
Let's hope this follows the western "blue tracks"... weather.com - Map Room - Satellite Map, Weather Map, Doppler Radar Computer Model Tracks
5pm track update from Wunderground doesn't look very favourable for Cancun. However, it should be borne in mind that the points marked are the exact centre of each circle and the hurricane could actually end up anywhere within that circle. As time passes the circles get smaller and as they do so the accuracy of the forecast increases.
We hope to be there on Sunday. We'll be thinking of you and DocNNurse and hope you guys can dodge the storm. What a bummer!!!
My kids are going on their honeymoon leaving thursday also ORD to dallas ft worth to cancun I am hoping all will be good any updates would be great they are very nervous about the whole trip now the storm isn't helping at all
Will keep you and everyone updated throughout. Also you may wish to check the similar thread in the locals forum: http://www.cancuncare.com/forum/living-cancun-riviera-maya/20953-cancun-hurricane-rina.html The weather changed at lunchtime today. This morning was bright and sunny, now it's heavy cloud and intermittent light rain. Here's a recent pic of the storm:
I'm reminded of an old joke, a man and a horse walk into the bar... I can't remember the punchline but Rina's a whore!
Hi! I'm new to this site. Arriving Thursday afternoon. Hoping for the best. At least I'm not working, right? I'm from Green Bay Wisconsin, blizzard country, so I'm used to some pretty bad weather! I can also hold my liquor so bring on "Thirsty Thursday". Thinking Positive
