Does anyone know what night the resort goes to Coco Bongos and is it better to go with the resort or through your travel agent rep? Oh and how much it costs. We've always talked about going but have never gone but this time we think we are going to do it...
We went with the resort and did the $55 package. We got transportation to the club on a nice bus, and a reserved section on the bottom floor. It is all inclusive with drinks, but just like TTR it is the cheap and limited selection for that price. If we could do it again, we would have paid $100 each for the VIP section that had premium liquor and the best view of the shows. It is a ton of fun and I totally recommend going - I just think it is well worth the extra $45 to be in the VIP section. We didn't know that until we saw what it was while there, but too late to do anything about it then. Take a nap later in the afternoon because you don't leave until nearly 11pm and the shows go all night. We held out until about 3am, just got too tired to stay longer :icon_cry: Have fun!!
I am going to make this a separate post, but I uploaded this video to you tube of one of the shows from Coco Bongo - so much fun! [ame=]Guns N' Roses Tribute at Coco Bongo in Cancun - YouTube
we have went with a bar hopping tour and with TTR....the bar hopping tour gave us much better seats and much better all inclusive service while in the club....but you have to find your own way to and from the club....the only thing the resort had on the tour was they provided a bus there you can also bargain with the resort on ticket prices
After missing out the past couple of years for one reason or another we went by ourselves. Rode the city bus to and from. The down side was the long line waiting to get in. We bought our tickets at the resort from the travel agency by the sports bar. Had a blast. We were at the back standing and one of the staff told us to follow him; he walked us right up to a table up front. A few dollars in tips and he took great care of us all night. Our glasses were never empty. Highly recommended. We didn't get back to the resort until 4:00 am.
The section that is reserved for TTR guests is in the back. It's extremely crowded and getting a drink was pretty much nearly impossible. One of our friends ended up complaining to CoCo Bongo management and we were taken to the VIP on top with great views, private restrooms, and amazing service. Turns out that this is the $100 per person VIP section. Well worth to pay the extra $45 dollars for this option.
It depends on the time of year where you get taken with TTR during high season like spring break you don't get good seats. You're up top near the back. This time of year you are more likely to be down by the bars which I prefer. It's all fun though!
Great point! We were there on Mexican Independence Day and the place was extremely crowded. As a matter of fact, one of the busiest nights they've ever had according to our VIP host.
I agree, we would totally do the $100 ticket if we ever go again!! We sat down by the bar at the front and were right in the middle of everything, but you can see more on the upper stage if you are in the VIP, and the drinks are better!
the must have multiple sections , or it depends on the night...we went with the hotel and ended up in the...ummm, i guess i would call them bleachers?....
