I thought it would be great if we could share any advice, deals and or experience on booking. After reading quite a few of the posts throughout the forums, I saw that quite a few people use Alpharooms to book their TTR rooms.
I took a shot at it and was pretty shocked at the price difference! I put in the dates (April 30 – May 7)
    Alpharooms (Hotel Only)
    $875 - 2 people
    Bookit (Hotel Only)
    $1826 - 2 people
    Bookit (Hotel & Flight)
$1156 per person (based on 2 people)
    Bookit (Flight Only)
Continental - $468+ taxes per person
So for 2 people booked separate, you’re looking at $1811+ taxes. Booked together online at Bookit would have been $2312 or a $500 difference.
I understand prices change on a daily and sometimes hourly rate but this has been constant after trying it a few times. Can anyone share any experiences they have been having booking TTR this way?

We booked our Thanksgiving trip through expedia months ago, have been checking the price to see how it changed, it has gone up by several hundred dollars since we booked. Also by booking early we were able to get great flight times into and out of cancun which are no longer open.

we used Alpharooms for our trip last July 4th, saved a bundle and went off without a hitch. We also flew Continental from the east coast. Going down was ok, the return trip was a disaster.

    Alpharooms

So with Alpharooms it is $125 a night per person or $125 a day for the room double occuapancy? Is it safe to book threw alpharooms if you are from Canada if I inform my CC? This will be great since we want to go for 10 days and all tour companies are 7 or 14 days.

we usually book room and flight separately mostly because we fly on air mile or areoplan. we have used alpharooms, you have to pay the US dollar price.. but we had no problems at all

I just checked again and the difference was the same. I have checked with a few people here in the forums and everyone so far hasn't had any issues other than credit card being declined for buying something overseas but that is about it and its your CC company that is watching out. Other than that, we are going to use them too.

After the trip, we should all post her to tell people how it went. Send us a note too!

So $125 a night for 2? Thats half price compared to expedia.ca. Are we sure its not per person?

I just went on again and put in 3 May - 7 May for travel days and it came up $500.12 for the room. Bookit has it at $123 per person per day still.

On the side of caution I sent a note asking about booking today just to make sure that the charge covers the room and the all-inclusive rate, meaning no other charges. I just want to make sure the bases are covered.

I will keep you posted on this!

So $875 / 7 nights is $125 a night if my math is correct. Is this per person or for two people a night?

I'm sorry I tried to answer it with the rest of the numbers you had there but with the beer and all I was having a hard time...
