rdubnpk The Fox news pundits and various Republican members of Congress must be in a panic after Mr. Cain, a black man, won their presidential election straw poll in Florida. "How on earth can we justify the racial slurs and racially charged derogatory comments we have been making toward Obama when our own candidate is black?" "Yes, he's a tar baby, but he's our tar baby?" "We didn't mean the comments we made to reflect on ALL black people, just the President of the United States?" And this after they, by their votes, have already revealed the true extent of their religious tolerance. "We will stand firmly behind a candidate of ANY religion, as long as he is of the (insert the name of any Protestant religion here) religion. Hypocrisy is alive and well.
Sooner or later people will begin to understand that you can disagree with a man of color because of what he thinks and does, not just because of the color of his skin. The liberals are so much for equality but never can get past the color of someone's skin. That seems to be ALL they think about. If you throw a banana hoping someone will slip and fall (a stupid act for sure) it immediately becomes a racial slur. If you disagree with someone's politics it can't be because he might be wrong, (God forbid that!) no it HAS to be because you are racist. Used to be that you could cower some on back into a corner just by hinting that they might have done something that might be the least bit considered racist. Trouble is that it has now become the only answer liberals have to anything they are questioned about. The liberals used to chaff about Bush's "either you are with us or you are unpatriotic!" Now the liberals chant "either you are with us or you are racist!" Neither slogan is very useful. Jamie
Jamie this is why the next president of your country needs to be a gay, parapeligic, Asian, atheist woman who smokes medical marijuana, former marine! All the slogan users will just get confused and shuffle away wondering what they are supposed to be upset about!
rdubnpk Referring to a blackman as "tar baby' is not racist??? The Repubs have played the race card early and often and it doesn't matter if you disagree with someone or not, using racial epitaphs are NEVER the way to address it.
Yeah and the guy that said it, as it was taken out of context, apologized right away for someone taking something he said and attaching another meaning to it. So it wasn't said in a racist vein but taken by the listener as racist. Sort of like you can stand on the sidelines at a football game and say "you, that's my boy" even if he is not your son IF, IF the kid is white. But if he is black the same statement with the same sentiment is suddenly racist. So yeah, if you spend your life looking for racist statements, then you will find what you are looking for. Which gets me back to my point of why are the liberals who are supposed to be above color distinctions spending always looking for those distinctions? Be indigent if you want but sorry, the word has been used too much to mean much anymore. Jamie
rdubnpk The Repubs have made a living attacking those who criticize the things they say and do. It is a remarkably effective way to defray any thing they do that might be considered repugnant. You, sir, have it mastered.
Actually if you would like to check out some really severe racism, check out the demographical voting results for Obama. What was the black percentage of votes for Obama? Hmmm, wasn't it something like 97%? Now which of Obama's policies do you think that Black voters were most enthralled with? Racism exists in this country on both sides of the political and race aisles. Anytime you try to overly generalize about anything including race, religion, or even political parties, you stand a very good chance of just adding to stereotypes. The vast majority of us who dislike Obama don't really care that he is half black or whatever he may be. We dislike him because he is just one really lousy president!
It would seem that your statement that you would vote for someone based on their ethinicity or sexual orientation is just another form of prejudice. Voting for someone only because of the color of their skin is every bit as racist as voting against someone for the exact same reason. If you are going to attack all who identify themselves as Republicans because of one person's comments then I guess we'll have to refer to Jimmy Hoffa, Jr. and his comment about the Tea Party that "We'll take the son of bitches out" in his war on the Tea Party. So if all Republicans are racists then one can only assume that all Democrats are violent thugs. The logic doesn't hold much water in either case does it?
I think you guys should try a Canadian for President. Keith? Do you have four.....make that eight years to spare?
