We just got back from our 2nd trip to TTR (first was in Feb 2011). We were there Sept 2-9. Now I’m back at work :icon_sad: and after telling people the things that went wrong--we missed our nice direct flight there due to being 1 MINUTE LATE for bag checkin, :banghead: (got re-routed through Dallas and got there about 7 hours later than expected, thank God), I got stung by a jellyfish, and that my toe’s messed up because a woman stepped on my toe with her stiletto heel, peoples’ reactions have been “And you STILL HAD FUN?” And I’m like “Yes! It’s Temptation!” How can you not have fun there!?!? :lotsofmichaelfs::mnm: With this being our 2nd trip, we were way more relaxed and knew what to expect. We hooked up with cancuncare.com people almost immediately—gowick, negrillovers, VABlondes, goodtimesroll, HerandI, , etc, and hung out with them a lot until each of them left. :icon_biggrin: As I knew the vibe, it was much easier to just talk to anyone and not worry about it. Compared to February, the sexy pool stayed open til 7pm (in Feb it was chilly and getting deserted around 5pm) and we enjoyed that a lot. We did the Boobs Cruise on Sunday 9/4 and met Steve and his lovely wife, Janet. The cruise was fun and quite the party, especially since VABlondes talked Tiger into making some of the bottled “red” and “green” stuff to take on the boat, and Mike was basically pouring it down everyone’s throat, especially on the way back, which was a blast. I will say, though, if you get seasick easily, take some medication beforehand; people were getting sick because it was pretty rough seas that day. Security seemed the same as it was in February 2011; in fact, there were things I was surprised they let people get away with (some guys – mostly the Aussie/NZ guys – dropping trou :bootyshake:and jumping in the pool, late night skinny dipping in both the quiet pool and the ocean, etc) so I didn’t see any of the aftereffects of what I heard happened in April. Big JOEP told me that 4 guys actually were in a fist fight behind the front desk in April! :aktion070: I mean, HOW DOES THAT EVEN HAPPEN?! :huh:But again, they seemed to have eased up again. :icon_wink: Room, food (we ate at every restaurant, as usual), service, etc was the same, i.e. good to great, clean, no issues. Had a room by Paty’Os again—room 2216—and those nights I had to go to bed early (I’m not good at pacing, unlike Ryan….) I had earplugs and a sound machine, so sleeping wasn’t an issue. After that, we mostly hung out by the sexy pool all day, every day. That’s what we go for, so if we wanna do explore-y type things, we’d stay somewhere else. We just want to party, man! :ernaehrung015: You will see the craziest stuff at that pool. And we were just talking to people and laughing all day! :aktion025: I had to spend a few mornings and early afternoons in “recovery”; again, I’m not the best at pacing and get terrible hangovers, but by mid-afternoon on most days I was ready to go! And I didn’t want to miss any pool games – they really get the mood going! Chinos was there until our last Wednesday, and I hope he comes back, because it’s just not the same without him. 4 single guys from Australia and NZ showed up on Tuesday? I think. I thought it was interesting to watch their effect on the sexy pool. They were good guys, single of course, very good-natured, and in their mid-20s and definitely not bad to look at. They had the craziest stories, and I actually believe most of them! These guys were having the time of their lives, and it was fun to watch! They also had a tendency to sort of “take over” the sexy pool at times. Because Ryan and I met them the 1st day and knew how goofy and crazy they were, we didn’t mind them (it helped that they were pretty sexy), but I think other people got a little sick of their antics, especially some of the older crowd. They were getting a lot of offers from women, too. One of them was at the sexy pool and a girl basically said “I wanna f*** you” and her man was behind her and the man apparently flipped his lid and the Aussie had to spend a half hour calming the guy down. :aktion060: We also saw some couples get into arguments about boundaries that had been crossed, etc; this seemed to happen around the drunkest time in the pool, i.e. 5pm-ish, so if you’re a couple and you’re going to get crazy, definitely talk about what you are ok and not ok with while SOBER, not when you are already drunk! Didn’t see any physical fights, just a couple of verbal fights and drama like that. There was also a older single guy who “trolled” the sexy pool and was creepy, but again, he was never a problem and the other guys seemed to watch out for him a lot. On Monday night, I got stung by a jellyfish. Was I sober? No. Was I alone? No. :mnm: Was I “swimming” in the seaweed area of the ocean? Yes. Was I told that “The ocean is closed” by security to only beg and plead for them to let us into the ocean anyway, which they did? Yes. 2 days later I had a delayed reaction to the sting –it was red, itchy, and painful, and the front desk responded immediately when I went there for help. The first aid guy was there in less than 5 minutes and knew it was a jellyfish sting right away and even with the language barrier he gave me treatment with 3 different creams, and it was less itchy by a couple of days later. For the first time ever, we went with the resort to a club. We went to Mandala on Wednesday night with about 8 other people from the resort—the Aussies, a group of super-fun single girls from CA, and Dave and Katia, aka Miss Temptation last week!!! I couldn’t believe how crazy that club was. It wasn’t crowded, but the music and atmosphere were just amazing. One of the best club experiences I’ve had (although I have to admit, I only remember about half of it!). I’d recommend going downtown with the resort at least one night if you’re into clubs. We paid $45 each for transportation to downtown (a nice big air-conditioned van) and all you can drink. We had tables in the front and service was impeccable. You have to get your own cab back, though, which I’m told was easy. :headbanger: Overall, another great trip. To all the people we met, HI!:aktion069: And hope to see you again. We hope to go sometime in late winter 2012, maybe February again, we’ll see!
There was also a older single guy who “trolled” the sexy pool and was creepy, but again, he was never a problem and the other guys seemed to watch out for him a lot. I know the guy U are talking about, he did the upside down dead man's float alot. He has been there prob 4 or 5 times that we have been there. LOL Thanks for the tr
The only guy that I felt did not belong there was a man 45-55 years old, huge belly, wore speedos all the time and for Lingerie night wore his speedos, belly hanging out and a robe wide open. what made him creepy was the damn face the he made all the time. Made me want to report him to America's most wanted.
Hey guys it was nice meeting both of you. We had a blast too. Creepy guy got into the hot tub when I was naked and I side my ass over to the big pool. Lol kinda lost my snickers. hahahaha
I am not sticking up for the creepy guy..............A couple of guys in our group went to confront him on Lingerie night after the way he was acting. My wife helped our best friend win the contest that nite. And he was sweating all over us after that. We got to patty o's and they all went over to him to be mean basically and all came back thinking he was a nice guy. I know it is eff up. He is legally deaf and weird, but travels the world stopping there once a year. He makes wheelchairs for handicap people that can't afford them. hmmmm The fight that broke out it patty o's that nite was over a girl walking by and calling him retarted while a friend of ours was trying to teach him to dance and not leeeer at girls. Please don't think I am weird know. lol
Good trip report...Sorry about that jellyfish.... And $20.00 does wonders with those security guards, or at least thats what i hear
Great meeting you guys! Wish we would of been there a little longer the Aussie guys were pretty funny Tuesday!
i know who your talking about. i actually felt sorry for him. i know i know im a sucker for a lost soul. but i even danced with him once, and diddnt get the creepy vive. some people just dont know how to interact with others and end up doing the wrong things to fit in. i was really shy in high school so i hope people diddnt find me to creepy.
