Tried to search on this subject but a lot of the information seems to date back to the BBG days. So, our questions are: what liquor/beer in included in the all-inclusive price? Is there still a silver upgrade? If so, how much is it and what does it get you? Insulated mugs still good things to bring? Thanks!
No silver package and all guests have access to the same booze. XX lager is the beer, and on draft. I just said that all guests have the same booze, but the Premier area on the beach does have some bottled beer instead of the draft XX. The liquor choices are basically a mid grade booze and a lower grade booze. Rum's choices for example are Bacardi and a lesser grade. No Jager or those type of liquors. The key is to ask for the better grade and usually a good idea to watch and make sure you get what you order. I love the bar staff, but they usually try to get rid of the cheap stuff. The cheap stuff kills me, and I stay away from it:blueshock:
I've only been once, but it was this year. Trying my best to remember: Draft Dos Equis is the beer. With liquor, if you don't name it, you're getting rotgut. But they do have some decent stuff if you ask for it. Good selection of rums (dark, light, spiced, aged) and tequilas. I remember a dark rum that was high quality but don't remember the name, then also stuff like Bacardi. I think the top-shelf tequila was 100 Anos; that may be the only 100% agave tequila. They also have Cuervo Gold. As for other liquors, they have Johnny Walker Red as the best scotch I think. No bourbon, but I think some Canadian whiskey (Can. Club?). Tangueray gin and maybe Absolut vodka? Whatever the gin and vodka were, they were perfectly good for mixed drinks. You can also bring your own liquor and they will hold it for you and serve it to you at the bar. And of course you can bring whatever you want for your room.
Is that Kentucky Gentlemen bourbon on the left? If so I stand corrected about no bourbon (but just barely!)
They will also have another that is somewhat better than Smirnoff. Either Stoli, Wryobba (sp?), or another that is pretty good.
