We land pretty early in the day, at 1:45 p.m. We have to be at the airport in Vancouver by 4:30 a.m. for our 6:00 am flight...ugh...I am hoping to catch a nap on the plane during the 6-hr flight. Is it pretty quick to get thru the Cancun airport and to the resort? I understand it's only 20 minutes from the airport, but how soon you get there always depends on how many stops the shuttle makes before it gets to your hotel. I'll have my bikini in my carry-on bag! The trip falls over Cdn Thanksgiving long weekend, so I imagine there should be even more Cdns in Mexico than usual!
We arrive on Oct 4-12 looking forward to all of the early Oct people... what a blast every time!! Chris & Tracy
Hey Chris and Tracy, so you've done the early Oct gig before? We are worried that our trip might get scuttled by a hurricane, so we bought hurricane insurance. Ever had any storms when you're there, or is the weather generally all clear in October? Hoping it is late enough in hurricane season that we'll be okay. Hi to you, Blueyedmama35...long time no speaks. Pre-tanning already: you crack me up! I just go for a spray tan 2 days before we get on the plane, and PRESTO! Instant 3-day tan and zero sun damage!
Hi to you - we have always had good weather in Oct - sometimes really windy and some sprinkles of rain but no hurricane - and always a BLAST!! Blueyedmama35 - with you on the pre-tanning we alway go a month before we go - helps with not burning the feet...lol Chris & Tracy
Hey Karen and Kris, so should we be packing a pirate costumn? we already have them so it wouldn't be a problem and it sounds like fun. John and Patty
John and Patty, I think pirates would be great fun. I think one of the Temptation regulars here was trying to organize a list of specific nights for specific costumes...now who was that?? My silly hat (complete with plume) doesn't fit in the suitcase tho...would have to carry it on!
getting through customs is hit and miss. last year it took 15 minutes, two years ago it took 90 minutes!!! it really depends on the airlines. if you have weather over diff parts of the country and too many planes that land at the same time it can get backed up. a few years ago it took almost 45 minutes waiting in line in the causeway(sp) just to make it into the customs waiting area!! good idea packing your suits in carry one(sunblock also). just find someone that you recognize here on the board and im sure any one of us will let you use the room to change and store you stuff till your room is ready. as to the shuttle......next time (or this time?)use Brandt on entertainment plus at bottom of this forum. they meet you outside with a sign with your name and nonstop drive to the hotel the back way. with the shared shuttle, not only do you sometimes have to wait for the shuttle to fill up TTR is almost ALWAYS the last stop! it can add an extra hour to poolside drinks... frank ps. for this valuable information, first drink is on you
That IS valuable info, thanks! Drinks are on me...for everyone! Our shuttle is included in our package, but I'd certainly be willing to pay extra to get to the resort sooner. What's the cost to use Brandt? Update: hit Brandt's link and figured out it is $35 one way for a car (up to 3 people) or $55 round trip. Might be a good idea for us to do the round trip, as the airline/hotel package providers always want to have you at the airport 3 hours in advance of your flight. I HATE THAT!
orange Cancuncare wristbands Frank and Jamie (or any other repeat TTRers), what's the easiest way to get orange wristbands so we can spot our new Cancuncare friends and they can spot us? Do we order them from somewhere online? Or just buy any old orange-colored wristband at a dollar store?
These are $1. They're actually open source wristbands - but its embossed and just looks like an orange wristband. Can't beat the price. I emailed them and they did multiple for $1 each plus cheap shipping.
