well my friends it time to fess up.. I have failed in my attempt to quit smoking .. I was 2 days short of 3 months.. which sucks ... all I can say is i had a weak moment and i didn't just have a few cigs..on Thursday evening on my way to the lake for a long weekend i drove straight to the store and bought 2 packs.. the next time i quit
and i know that one of these time i will make it that 3 months is a dangerous time for me.

Kim, you have not failed!! You successfully put down cigarettes for almost a quarter of a year!!!! Now, you've wandered a little off the path, but you know you are capable of putting them down again....it's not easy, but you can do it! But don't say you failed...each of those days you didn't smoke was a success, don't rob yourself of that accomplishment!!!

Kim... Just do the same thing we do with eating and dieting! We "slip" on our diet and eat a tub of ice cream or an entire cake.. but then the very next meal we say "ok, back to it"! So, think of it as a bump in the road and continue on! Don't give up!! You can totally do this!

Kim I agree with Karyn. You slipped............so what. Get back to it and bring back the determination to quit. It really does get way easier after 8 months. I really do know how hard it is to quit and I know it has to be your time, wanting it so bad, cause it just ain't easy. I did the same the first time I quit after three months starting cause I got pissed at our realtor and then it took me almost another year to even try again. I am hoping you won't wait a year to quit again. I think for me it was a fear to be a non smoker since I had never been an adult and a non smoker. I started when I was 11 and quit when I was 32.

i have not totally decided to keep smoking as I sit here smoking but i have been here before. perhaps you are right i could say that i slipped.. but i feel so much happier smoking .. i don't feel better cause my lungs are hurting like hell my head is aching but my mood is way way better ... that's the part i don't get.. does nicotine really have that much of an effect on your brain and your mood.. its so damn frustrating..

having quit many times, and started again many times, i dont think too much of it as really failing, but of trying to break a hard belief that smoking calms you down. i mean i can be just as bitchy, or grumpy, tired ect. with or without smoking. i has just been the thing people run to when there upset ect. i really believe its how we have programed ourselves to think that needs to change. i am going to give it another go after Temptation this year. dont beat yourself up. that was a good start. when your ready try again.:cheerleaders:

Started back with Will at the gym yesterday. I have been eating clean and hope to tone back up before our trip in Oct. Will is doing great with his lifts. He keeps me inspired! However intimidating when he asks me to spot him on his bench press!

I think we all gave smoking to much power over our lives. It is the nicotine screwing with our brains and yes we feel better when we can just do what we want. Given the choice I would eat peanut buster parfaits daily and still fit in a size 3 or 5. I hope you quit again Kim cause I want to see everyone healthy but I totally undestand it too.

Life has been so crazy! Everytime I try to get started back to the gym, well, it just isn't happening. So I signed up for kickboxing classes this week. I used to do it about 10 years ago and it was a great workout and I loved it. Hoping between that and tennis I'll be in decent shape before our trip in November!

well i fit my med sized shorts again. not my small ones but hey, better than not fitting them at all. i have almost a month to lose a few more. just have to stay focused. why i go so far off the path during the winter is unreal! cold temps. and comfy food. another mind game to overcome. i guess if i can beat that cycle, then i will find another one to cure myself from.
