wow was reading the recent reviews on trip advisor,,,this place sounds nasty, anyone else read trip advisor?? send us PM if your also in chicago land area
agreed with the above post. Those people that write negative reviews can stay at the Ritz Carlton and still find something negative to say about them.
Ive found literally every hotel/appartments ive ever been to on holidays has had loads of bad reviews on trip advisor. Some real horror stories which in the past has had me worried as to what i would find when i arrived. Funny enough, ive never been dissapointed with anywhere ive been. Bottom line is, there are people in the world who are never happy and will find something wrong no matter where they go. Its amazing how many people go to a 4* hotel expecting 5* luxury and then pull a hissy fit when the red carpet isnt rolled out to greet them. As already mentioned, youll get a far better idea of what the hotel is actually like by reading the comments on here.
You apparently didn't find mine from 2007: Great time, but set your expectations! - Review of Temptation Resort Spa Cancun, Cancun, Mexico - TripAdvisor and the text: We just returned from a 5 night stay at the BBG in Cancun, and had a wonderful time - however, I give the review a title of "Set Your Expectations". Here's the details: - Food: It's an all-inclusive - we found the food to be delicious, in great quantity and variety. But if you are expecting five-star, look elsewhere. The speciality restarants, especially Il Picatere (italian), however, were fantastic. - Facility - it's appropriate for the value paid - our room was sparkling clean, the AC worked well enough (a ceiling fan would have made it perfect), the bed was "mexico hard" and the linens were acceptable. Once again, look at value paid. This is not the Royal Hideway and if that is your expectation, look elsewhere. If you like a clean, comfortable room with a big shower and a killer view (we overlooked the sexy pool and the beach - perfect), it's a good spot. One heads up: No elevators - take the stairs only, or stay elsewhere, or request and get a ground-floor room. - People: The people are what make the BBG fantastic. We made such good friends here - we even made travel plans with one couple already to meet in Las Vegas. Everyone is friendly and it's rare that you find anyone that's a jerk - they are there, and we saw a few, but no more than you'd see anywhere else. That said, again, expectations - this is a party scene and if you are expecting a quiet, elegant experience, look elsewhere. If you want to be yourself, or for that matter, someone else for a week, this is the place to do it. - "Adult" stuff - Topless is common at the "fun" pool and the beach, a little less so at the "quiet pool". But no pressure to join or not - seek your own level. That said, it is difficult to take a picture to send home to the kids (or to post on Trip Advisor) if you are by the fun pool and not catch a topless woman in the shot. There are those that would find that to be a positive! LOL The pool-side entertainment, which goes on for about an hour to 90 minutes in total each midday is what I'd call "adult suggestive" ... if you're going to freak out about hearing an "f-word" or seeing someone "moon" the crowd, or a topless woman, not the place for you. Suggest Disney. The evening entertainment is a bit more suggestive but again, nothing terrribly over the top, and you don't have to attend. One very smart thing they do is "export the rowdies" each evening with a party tour to a different bar each night - pay one price, hop the bus, access to VIP, all you can drink, etc. and then find your way home. Once that crowd leaves, the resort gets very quiet. - Hints/secrets: Request to be moved if you are anywhere near the Margaritas bar by the lobby - noisy there until at least 5:00 AM - that's where people congregate after hours. The area around the sexy/fun pool is dead quiet at night, as is the area around the quiet pool. Best views are from the building along the west side of the quiet pool - great view of the pool/resort and sea. Perfect. Also, if you find friends, you can make reservations at the speciality restaurants for more than just two, and just use one dining card for the party - that allows you to eat there more than once. - Beach: The beach is ... well, nothing special. About 45 feet wide, soft sand, nice palapas and you can always get a chair. The sea has no wave action there so it's weedy at all times, although the crews rake it out daily. If you're a big beach person, go to Punta Cana or something. The pool is where it's at with this resort anyway, and the pool has a great view of the beach. Best of both worlds. Summary: If you're high-maintenance, only want 5-stars, can't handle a little bit of "think for yourself", can't walk up stairs, can't be around toplessness, have to have a perfect beach, etc., go elsewhere. If you are: - Fun loving, relaxed about things, enjoy a topless beach or pool, and have a great sense of humor - a people watcher and lover - low-maintenance ... then the BBG is the perfect place for you . We loved it. Liked — The people there. Stayed July 2007, traveled as a couple Value Location Check in / front desk Rooms Cleanliness Service Was this review helpful? Yes
Here's my review from April 2010, I have been back twice since then and returning again in October 2011. "2nd visit to Temptation was as good as the first !!” Reviewed April 14, 2010 2 people found this review helpful I stayed at Temptation in October 2009 with 2 girlfriends and had such a fabulous time that I returned again in April 2010 with 3 more girlfriends. We had a fabulous week and received excellent service everywhere on the resort, poolside, buffett, a la cartes and bars. The entertainment staff is awesome, they know how to get the crowd going. We had a jacuzzi room for the first 3 nights of our stay then switched to a regular room, basically the only difference was the jacuzzi, both rooms clean, fridge stocked and the safe in perfect working order. We did not do any daytime excursions as this would interfer with our time at the pool and in the sun. Although we did take a morning to go to the flea market, but hurried back to catch the daily activites at the pool. I have been to Cuba twice and vow that I will never return after experiencing Cancun and Temptation Resort and Spa. People have said this over and over here... this place is a niche destination. It's not going to appeal to the masses in general...it's not meant to. We were at Desire Cabo (before they neutered it made it a TTR) and we met a couple from CA that had NO IDEA it was a clothing optional resort, much less a "lifestyle friendly" destination. Imagine what their Trip Adviser report could have been like?
EXACTLY! People need to take the time on their part to RESEARCH,RESEARCH,RESEARCH. If you don't take the time then don't blame anyone but yourself if there is something that you don't like. Especially these days with internet access, there is no excuse for not knowing what to expect out of your resort/vacation!!!!
