Hey folks, this will be our first trip to Temptations - of course we are bubbling with excitement, but have a number of questions as well. Is the water safe? Does the resort provide bottled water? Does the resort have Wifi? Also, should we just plan on bringing cash or can we use our ATM card? Does the resort escort you from the property if your butt is bright white?:azzangel::huh:
All the water at the resort is safe as they have their own water filteration system. It might taste funny, but it's OK. They do give you a free bottle of water each day in your room. You can get that bottle refilled at any of the resturants by just asking your waiter. Drink only bottled water off the resort and be sure to wipe the top before drinking just in case it was cooled in ice water rather than a refer. The resort does have wifi, I think it runs about $15 a day. You can take cash, people bring a stack of ones at least for tipping. There is an ATM but it only gives out pesos. Also know that it will display your balance in pesos so no you didn't strick it rich on vacation. Jamie
Well, we have only been to Tempations Cabo, but I can say that won't escort you for a bright whitey! I was red after the first day! Pre-Tan!! We brought cash because our bank charges for out of country transactions. We brought a lot of smaller bills for tipping and transportation. We always had a large bottle of water in our fridge daily, but I can't say that I ever drank the whole thing! As for the Wifi...I didn't test it. Its vacation! I suggest cutting off the rest of the world. But if you need some contact, make sure you add a plan to your cell phone that doesn't charge you out the ass for out of country calls. I have Verizon and it only cost me $15 to talk to my daughter daily. Worth it!
they have computers in the lobby you can use for $5 for 30mins or you can pay $15 for 24hrs of wifi on your laptop.. The best way to do this would be to find a group of people and all split the wifi cost seeing you can share the password.. We brought cash for everything and made sure we had plenty of singles for tipping.. make sure if you're using a credit card that you call them first and let them know you're leaving the country a lot of companies will freeze your account if not given advanced notice because they'll assume it was stolen.. Tony also made the mistake a few years ago at an ATM in mexico he wanted $30 and ended up taking out $300 lol The water at the resort is fine to drink I drank it from all the restaurants with my meals and they also provide you with a large bottle in your room which is nice..
The resort's water is safe. They provide bottled water in your room. The resort has Wifi for a fee. Plan on bringing cash, do not plan on just using your ATM card. I say again, bring enough cash to cover what you plan on doing in Cancun. One year, I used my credit card at an ''upscale'' restaurant, they made a magnetic copy of it, without me knowing, and charged over $14,000 onto it. Needless to say, I wasn't responsible for the charges, but I will never again use plastic in Mexico.
Splitting the wifi is good. Probably my biggest complaint with the place. Too expensive, for iffy service
You guys are awesome, that helps a ton!!! Can't wait to get there.... I haven't been to Cancun in 20 years ( I was 18 years old the last time I went) I spent the first two days hovering above a toilet after drinking water!!! I never want to experience that again!
lol pace yourself drinking and hopefully you wont have to hover over the toilet this trip.. no promises though, I just dont think it'll be from the water haha!
I'm just not one to trust the water even if it is " filtered ". Filtering doesn't kill bacteria which is almost always the culprit. We use the water in the fridge and also use it to brush our teeth with....:wink3: Just think it's better safe than sorry.....:aktion069:
Lol -hence why I asked the question, we don't even trust our own filtered water here in Cali, I guess I will just drink beer!!!
