Premier UPGRADE!!

    This has already been beaten to death, but here it is again. We have been Premier members for almost 10 years--some benefits, some ripoffs. We did get the good fortune of getting to use the $49 airline tickets for a few years before RCI/Premier jerked that perk, but it was great while it lasted. Since then, things have almost always gone downhill--high rates (cheaper to book online), not much for perks, and the cold shoulder from anyone when we mention getting something in return for our INVESTMENT!! Recently, things had been looking a little better--the Premier area on the beach, private waiter/waitress, and the under-construction area by the Sexy Pool--I thought things were maybe changing for the good. We've been in contact with a rep at Premier for the past several months, and were promised an "UPGRADE" for being Premier--which we were definitely leery of. Finally--today I received the email from Premier--GUESS WHAT--there is a "CHARGE TO UPGRADE"--imagine that--they want MORE money to remain PREMIER MEMBERS, and get supposed benefits that I am sure will never materialize!!! Sorry for the negative post--was just wondering if anyone else had received any offers?? PM if you don't want to share aloud--or post it up!! Any more comments from all of you repeaters?? Don't get me wrong, we love the place--why else would we return year after year after the Axx raping we've taken by Premier. It's just sad to see them take advatage of people who spend their time/money/vacation at TTR, especially since we regularly bring 8-10 others with us on each visit!! How much extra cash do you think the repeaters bring into that place--dragging all of our friends along as well??

    I am with you on this. The first few years made sense financially and then it went down hill. We love Temptations as well, but is is cheaper to book on-line. They have made attempts at having some additional perks for members which is good. We talked to them about the "upgrade" a couple of years ago and it did not end well and the wife was not happy. We have just decided to chalk it up as a bad investment and continue to go and meet friends and have a great time. I will not be giving anymore money to them for any upgrade or anyone else for a Timeshare. We are done with Timeshares.

    I have to say, Temptation really deserves a pat on the back this time! Just got back from another incredible week and have already booked our next trip back! Premier members are in for a treat when they see all the new benefits with the upgrade. We've been members for a few years now and really love the resort and all the staff. Especially Tiger and Jose, our favorite bartenders! They sure know how to make you feel like you're part of the family! We were a little concerned about putting out any more of our hard earned dollars, but the new benefits make it all worth it. It will be hard to believe that any Premier member with the upgraded membership could stay for less any other way!

    We have seen some changes over the years, some good and some not so good, like the 49 dollar airfare that was taken away by RCI, not Temptation by the way. That was unfortunate. As for us being taken advantage of, I disagree. Our friends own a membership in Vegas and recently upgraded to a plan with new benefits as well. It wasn't free. It came with a cost.

    Nobody held a gun to our head to do the upgrade. We made a well thought out decision. We did the math, and my wife, being an accountant and all, realized that we would be saving a bundle by doing the upgrade. Whether you're thinking of upgrading or becoming a new member, you owe it to yourself to keep an open mind and have a look.

    PS...We would still be Premier members even if we hadn't upgraded

    If you didn't know already there is a new head guy in town at Premier. I think it's fair to say he has been employed specifically to try and turn things around and has a successful track record of already doing so elsewhere.

    I have met with him once and have another meeting scheduled soon (this time Premier are actually interested in what cancuncare members think), it's clear to me he is genuine in his plans and I fully expect to see Premier regaining the popularity it once enjoyed with him at the helm.

    I would like to add one more thing. The staff upstairs in the Premier sales room is terrific. Bernie, Aisha, and Aaron, just to name a few who went out of their way to once again, make our vacation perfect. Oh, and Jose, our favorite bartender! :aktion033:

    We are premier member since Sept 2010 so you are telling us that we are going to see some type of change good ones I hope?

    Yes. That's what we're saying. We plan on vacationing at Temptation for many years to come and Premier has made our plans a lot easier!
