hey everyone, never been to cancun before, but staying at the golden parnassus, is this going to be a good location for us party girls? and will there be many people our age staying here 20-30s?
Having been there last week.... the single crowd really rotated dramatically and it seriously just depends on timeing. At the beginning tons of single guys (mainly uk - english/scottish - with also a crew from Monterrey and a crew of American Asian guys). Easily 35 total (one group of probably 10, monterry group had around 7 to 8, rest were groups of 2,3,4) BTW ages from 21 (or so they say) to 35. By the end of the stay it had rotated in my view to maybe a few more females (maybe because the single guys diminished so much). I would have gathered to say 20 to 25 or so single females - mostly in their 20s with mainly groups of 2s or 4s... with one decent size 6 group. Again the majority people at this resort ARE couples or groups of couples. Age range was VAST... you really did have an even distribution of young, middle age, and older couples. The guys in the entertainment staff will easily attach themselves to any group of single ladies and make sure they are having fun (I saw that 'often') - this includes nightclub outings
depends on which month and how long you stay. people come and go. but usually its older crowd and couples.
Thanks for the info guys. Hopefully its not too many couples. If so we might go for a day to a party hotel. Ha can you do that? We go 27th june for 2 week. How far is it to nightlife? In bus? Also does this bus run right from outside hotel? Or we got a trek in our heels?
you can get a daypass at Temptations for like $70 from 6am to 6pm. to me its not worth it... ive never been in cun in middle of summer so i wouldnt know how the crowd is this time of the year. but for 2 weeks, youll see different phases of groups. as far as nightlife....hang with "Carlos aka Charlie" in the entertainment group----they are the one that do the pool activities and gets people to go to coco bongo, the city, bulldogs, mandala (these are all big busy clubs downtown). They always convince people from GP to go! and its $45-$55/person and its with transportation to get there and all you can drink and no waiting in line (youre on your own getting back). as far as the bus, since GP is somewhat hidden, you got couple steps to the hotel (4min walk and its UPHILL lol)
Hmmm don't know if we will do the Temptation day pass then if ur saying its not worth it. Will see when we are out there as my friends are staying there. So would be good to join them during day. Eeeeek at the 4 min walk uphill. Ha thatll kill me for two weeks. I've read a few posts about the money situation. So pesos is best to take? Doing the dolphin swimming where's best to book it? Through hotel or a travel agent?
US Dollars or Pesos... BTW they had the best exchange rate at the Kulkukan Shopping Center (about 3 to 4 bus stop going to the right from the hotel - towards the night clubs). It was 11.10 Pesos to every $ : Hotel was 10.50 Pesos to every $. I would book the dolphin swin ahead of time, I did ALLOT of investigation last year and finally went with the one at Isla Mujeres primarily because my daughters wanted to swim with the Manatee as well. You take the bus (probably 20 minutes from the Golden) to the port and they have a direct boat that takes you over. I booked directly with them, if you do it earlier enough you save 10 to 15%. You also can do it at Dreams (at the Cancun point) as well as Wet N Wild.
you wont feel the pain when youre drunk coming home from cocobongo lol only time ill have pesos with me is when they give me change from the store inside GP. other than that, i bring wads of singles with me all the time. as far as swimming with dolphin book it with Rae (aquaworld) in the hotel. she works with anything water sports/activity related in the hotel where you get your towels. she always have good deals :mnm:
ha too true i wont feel the pain when im boozey, although the feet might be sore in the heels after dancing all night. ive been checking exchange rates here, and we are getting 18.25 mexican peso to the £1. so i thinking that sounds a good rate, as was 17. something last week so its went up. ill look into the dolphin swiming thing when we get over there.
