Hi all, we're members of RCI and apparently we have to pay for the All-Inclusive part when we get there. But they don't take cash.

Credit cards are always a question mark whether they'll work in another country.

Does anyone know if they take American traveler's checks?

Credit and debit cards will work if you call you credit card or bank company and tell them where you will be internationally, they have to have advanced notice that you will be out of the US and where it is so that they know your cards have not been stolen

We are RCI members, we were there last October and are booked again for this October. Last year we pre-paid our AI from home and still had to notify our credit card company as the payment goes to Mexico. RCI had quite a deal last year if you were going in off peak times. If you prepaid your AI you got $179 credit for spa/gift shop, you also got 2 free passes to Xcaret park. We did not want to go to the park so they gave us $159 credit for any excursion we booked through the resort. I do not see any such offers for this year. Hoping they will pop up. Also, if you go to www.temptationcancun.com and click on RCI members you can get free private transportation to the resort from airport. This is one way, you can book a return trip at the resort. It is very reasonable. One last point, RCI members get placed in the Premier building that overlooks the Sexy Pool. Very nice. I believe that's the only Premier perk you get.
    Have a blast!

    Thanks Paul!
I'm new to RCI, I was unaware that you can pay in advance. Did you pay RCI or call the hotel to do it?

You would pay the resort direct.

We are RCI members and NEVER book our Temptation trip through them! Once you pay the exchange fee (we are weeks members, not sure about points program), purchase air fare seperately, and then pay the AI..You have paid $300-$600 too much lol... We book through your regular avenues for this trip. You should be able to do flight, room, AI for $2000 or less for an 8 day trip. You will not be able to do that using RCI. We just got home on Sunday, 8 days...All for $1400 :)

I have wondered many times about what RCI members pay to actually stay at TTR. If what I read is correct you as RCI members pay about $2000 to stay a week at TTR. Ok I hope don't offend anyone but thats what we paid to stay through Apple for 7 nights, 8 days including non-stop from St. Louis.

So where's the benefit to RCI?

    Seeking info...

We go in October through RCI weeks, we pay $65 a night/pp. That comes to $910 + tax plus a $179 exchange fee. We have expanded out stay 2 extra nights and booked that through Alpharooms at $77/night/pp. We booked our flights on our own, got a great deal nonstop out of Ny through Jet Blue. All together we are paying about $2200 for 9 days. Again, last year we also got over $300 in resort credits through RCI, they don't appear to be offering that this year.

we have booked and stayed through our RCI membership and through apple both and the only benefit its room location, when you book through RCI you stay in the owners section and the "top shelf braclet" other than that you pay about the same.

and to answer you original question we paid by CC when we were checking in

Hey, RCI just added a promo deal for Temptations. If you travel between August 15 - December 15, you pay for 5 nights AI and get 2 nights free.
