There's a problem with that theory though.... TR is not even close to being the cheapest resort in Cancun. If they were really looking for a place to attack the club scene from there are many other cheaper resorts to do that from.
I wouldn't let any of this or security sway you from your trip. This will be our 12th time there. We still love it even though it has had major changes to tame it from what it used to be. Go and have fun.

Or specified " It's one of the cheapest Top-Optional resorts anywhere near Cancun and those single guys, whether they admit it or not, love eye-candy at both where they stay and the night life of Cancun bars. Which I think is why the larger groups of single men are using Temptations more. Isku
I think that is part of the overall slight misconception about TTR. First TTR in not really near the night life of all the big Cancun bars and isn’t walking trip. Eye-Candy – if you’re talking about topless women? On any given day I would have to say only about 30% were actually topless. I noticed that when there were more guys there were less gals going topless. Don’t get me wrong here, I’m not saying that singles shouldn’t go there, I think they should. At the same time I wish there was a way to find out when these large groups are going. Like me, I would think a lot of people at least here in this forum might plan their trip for a different time. Maybe TTR could have a single / couple ratio gauge to let people know. I can see this working out on both sides. Singles would want to be there when more singles are there (maybe).
Maybe someone should be taking a strip off of Thomas Cook or whatever the travel agency is in England. The majority of the time that I hear about problems they have to do with these guys. I've heard in the past that they promote TR as a swingers resort. I've also heard of them doing the opposite and sending people who end up being shocked by what they see at TR. Any agency I've talked to in Canada has asked me if I've been to TR before when we ask for quotes. Do they not care about their reputation as an agency?
I think that the resort is trying to calm things down .. not stop the sexy vibe but calm it down. People have been pushing it to the limit (not that I mind).. lol and the resort has let it happen .. and I believe that the big groups of singles that show up there for there bachelor parties have heard all the rumors of it being a swingers resort that alows singles and its a wild and crazy place, there are body shots and balcony shows, maybe thats why they are cracking down.. so that word gets out to these groups or travel agents that the resort has stopped all of this stuff and the groups of guys will book elsewhere.. I think it will get back to normal and be a fun place it has always been. just my 2 cents..
My two cents on this is people were complaining not enough security...now there is to much security.. I figure they are doing what was asked... somtimes you get what you wish for.
Ive been thinking the same exact thing, a few groups of guys or whatever get out of hand, a bunch of people complain for added security and next thing ya know there is too much security, Its like that girl that complained about Dan, thinking it was him trying to take her top off (which it wasnt) .. She runs to management and security and complains, which put more security around the pool...low and behold the next few days she is running around topless anyway... I think some people just dont think about the consequences of their actions.. Just my 2 cents, if any one has change that would be great, cuz I only wanted to throw in 1 cent and save the other cent towards next aprils trip LOL...:daveandmo:
Only way is to complain to the tour rep for the holiday company who does visit the hotel or direct to Thomas Cook or TUI/Thomson Holidays ! Both of these companies are regulated in the UK by ABTA and have to abide by rules ! Hopefully we won't get groups of single lads at Xmas !!!
Bottom line is TTR is a great resort. I think next April is gonna be great. I hope that they will be making shots again but if they aren't then I will drink Sambuca or tequilla slammers without a single complaint and have a great time. I really didn't find security to be outrageous and I had one of the best trips ever. \I love everyone I met. So if I want to be naked and security won't let me well then I will wear a sheer thong and still have a swim suit not breaking the rules. It's all in the way you look at it. Look for the positives.
