Thanks! I'm just trying to decide whether to change out for pesos before we leave home or wait until we get there.

we didn't take any pesos. and didn't bring any home, either.

everyone seems to take (and most prefer) USdollars.

My advice: Take almost all 1's and 5's. I know it becomes thick, but when i bought things at the gift shop, or the pharmacy across the street, they gladly took the USD, but only gave change back in pesos. If i had had smaller bills at that point, I could've given exact and not ended up with the pesos. Our last day there, we finally got rid of our small amount of pesos at the airport gift shop and restaurant... so it all worked out.

Depends on what you have planned while you are there... if you don't leave the resort, you don't need pesos.

Don, t worry about peso. We only had US money, and had no problems anywhere, even at the little store next door. Just left any peso we had left with the maids tip when we left. Just think 10 peso is not quite a US buck when doing the math.
