    Hey Bonez, while I have copied and pasted off the internet.. my doctor has told me the exact same .. which is pretty much the same as what you are saying except different.. haha!!



    Metabolism

    Metabolism is the energy needed for the body’s functions, like the functions performed by the heart, brain and liver. About 70% of the calories burned each day are for these functions. The nicotine in cigarettes raises the “metabolic rate” of smokers, which increases the amount of calories used. But it is a very unhealthy way to burn calories. After smoking a cigarette your “metabolism” increases right away. Your heart may beat 10-20 more times per minute after you have a cigarette. This is one reason for the high rate of heart disease in smokers. When you quit smoking, your metabolic rate slows down to a healthy level. It may even slow down an extra amount before going back to normal.
    It can take a few weeks or even months for your metabolism to rise back to a normal level. Meanwhile, this slower rate burns fewer calories. There are more healthy ways than smoking to increase metabolism. Exercise is the best way.

    and on this one.. I did ok.. could have done way better and when i get back.. i intend to do better. before this trip it just felt like i was working on a deadline .. but after .. its gonna be a lifestyle .

    Ah Kim well we just have to keep this going. I am back from Cancun now and as usual I gained 5 lbs there once again. I got back on the diet today and well I couldn't wait to get home and have my oranges. I am hoping to lose 10 - 15lbs in the next 7 weeks before I go away one more time. Let's keep it going. I refuse to stop until I am 120 lbs.

    I've lost 6 more pounds since my last post in this thread (3/11/11). The wife hasn't been so lucky but I think her slight weight gain is more attributed to her building some muscle. She uses weights when she does some of her aerobic classes and I think that's where the weight gain is coming from because her clothes fit loser than before.

    Well if the scale isn't lying then I may be down a 2 lb since getting back from our trip. Hope so.

    Think I came home a couple pounds lighter. Don't know how, must have been all the dancing. Only thing I can think, though I did never snack when there. (my biggest problem). Here' hoping I can continue the trend along with you.

    I can't believe you are lighter. I worked out everyday and ate salad and fruit like crazy at breakfast lunch and supper. Must be the fact that I am so dehydrated, lacking sleep and my blood sugar is totally f@###k. I have been dizzy all week and have been having to sneak to back at work to eat something to bring it back up. At home I eat 6 times a day ....there I only ate three. Muah Vincent love you too Caveman.
