I think the issue is Thomas Cook and TUI's. These are the tour operators that 'block' book the rooms. Ok it may not be Steve's fight, but there does seem to be an issue and to me it's aimed at people from the UK. Again I feel really saddened that 'Brits' abroad giving us a bad name. So if you have been a victim or have encountered these louts then the same still applies. Complain directly to the hotel and then to The Tour Rep that will visit the hotel daily. I have had this happen before where gangs of lads just do as they please when on holiday. I am going to highlite this thread to people I know at one of the companies. As I said they have corporate responsibility towards other paying passengers and other guests of the hotel. The bottom line is that it's NOT FAIR !! for your holiday to be spoiled !!
It seems like the opposite problem than would be caused by say a lifestyle takeover. Some people that are there when these events happen have complained (tripadvisor etc) that the lifestyle groups who book a large enough block end up getting the quiet side of the resort set aside from them. Then the other people don't feel like they are getting their moneys worth because they can only use 1/2 to 2/3 of the resort. My point is that booking large blocks of rooms is great business for the hotel in terms of sales but people on the outside of these groups often end up feeling left out, or intimidated because there is such a large group they aren't part of. It's up to the guests to let staff know if they get unwelcome pushy advances just as much as the hotel needs to understand the implications of booking large groups and doing everything they can to ensure everyone gets what they paid for on their vacation. My two cents.
No April Fools joke!!! We returned from Temptation sunday night. We were there March 28- April 3. We checked in 5 minutes before the group of 42 stormed the hotel. I believe they are staying until April 11 or 12 (2 weeks)....... They seemed pretty ok for the first few days, nothing out of the ordinary..drinking, trash talking, etc, but got worse gradually. I believe on Thursday afternoon, one guy pushed the Temptation cast activities girl into the pool during one of the games. She was holding a microphone, which was subsequently destroyed. The group was charged $600 to replace it. By saturday night (5th night), it got to the point where it was completely unacceptable behavior. At the pool party, one of them had the nerve to ask my boyfriend if we "did" single guys ! We just stared at him, and the idiot had the nerve to tell us to "chill out" ..woooow.... I'm all for everyone having fun, but they completely wrecked the vibe. It is sad because we have been there 4 times before and never experienced anything to this scale before. Some newbies we met said they were never going back there. Very sad. Anyways, we made the best of it, like we always do. The Boobs Cruise was fun! Thanks Steve!! Dancing in the cage on Lingerie nite was awesome, and meeting all the beautiful couples, sane single men and single ladies was the best!! As usual, we've made friends for life. We'll probably be back, but not if they keep entertaining packs of obnoxious "lads" !
Ahhh Shit, so sorry to hear about the crap being pulled by this group of single guys.. But you guys have a great attitude " Make the best of it"
Single guy just back I just returned (26 Mar - 2 Apr) and went there by myself. I did see the bunch of idiots (not to name where they are from as I'm sure they don't necessarily reflect their country of origin...). As one of the rare, single guys, travelling solo, I had a great time. I made tons of friends (and actually met some of them on this forum prior to going). Funny story is that I was actually the one being "proposed" by many of the older swinger couples but after a couple of days of politely declining they left me alone. Once again, for those single guys not sure if this is the place to go, I had a great time. Couples can be a little wary of single guys approaching them but once they know you and that you show you have good itentions, then friendship is quickly struck. Still lots of single folks around for anyone going solo. I will definately be back.
I was talking to a buddy of mine that is down there and has been during the time those rowdy guys were there, as was said, they were getting progressively worse to the point that his girlfriend came back to his chair crying after getting a drink, to which he confronted all them in a pissed off manner... Chinos stepped in and so did hotel management and my buddy told me that the hotel banned that group from Lingerie night and other hotel activities. My friend also told me that hotel management recieved a ton of complaints about them during their stay and relayed to my friend that some kind of action was going to be taken to avoid this happening again. I was told that the bulk of the group was leaving the hotel today.
That is very accurate. I saw the incident with the guy pushing the entertainement girl in the pool. They hauled his ass off to jail. There was another incident with a drunk guy from the group chatting us up, decided to rip the bottom bikini of one of the wives... Security was called in and he was taken away from the pool. Anyway, it's sad because some of those guys were actually pretty nice but with a whole bunch of them around the sexy pool, it made things uncomfortable for everyone. Anyway, I don't believe folks should stop going there because of this one group. 95% of the people there are top notch.
