I guess you have to weigh the risk. I think home insurance may cover you at the resort? It does when you book a hotel room domestically, I believe. Airlines often have you sign damage waivers but some let you take a guitar as carry on. Buying a decent cheap guitar is also an option, with the thought of future travel in mind. I don't worry much about bangs on the Guild. She's had plenty of them over the years. Adds character. Look at Willy's guitar...lol.

A little glue and duct tape will fix that...lol A good solid case is ample protection, in my experience. I worry more about having it lost.
I have a good solid case, but i have 3 of my friends who's had guitars broken by airlines in good solid cases
