Perhaps I have a question that has NEVER been asked here before... We make our own cigarettes instead of spending $6.00 a pack. I don't feel like spending a bunch of time making a carton of cigs just to have them thrown away at the airport because of how they are packaged. Has anyone brought their own with them before? I know smokes are cheap once in Mexico, but I would rather have my own. Thoughts??
We also make our own - we are on our 5th trip and we don't want to chance the issue - so we just buy a carton of cigs at the airport when we arrrive. Sorry wish we could have been more help.
I dont roll my own, but I always bring down a few packs of my own for the first couple days and I also buy a carton at the duty free shop, I am sure you will be fine bringing some down, if they are rolled and packed... but like was just said, the hassle and worrying may be not worth it. So again this year, bringing 2 packs with me and a carton at the duty free

I always thought the cigarettes I bought down there were somehow more harsh then those in the states. Seemed to burn my throat more. Jamie
I also roll my on, but when going to the resort they are a problem to pack so I just buy a couple of cartons to take with us. The cigs I have purchased there seem to be more expensive than here, but I guess it has a lot to do with what state you buy them in. I agree with Jamie , the ones you buy there do seem to be rougher to smoke than the ones you buy here
I looked them up once, cuz they are harsher, back a few years ago they were using a different grade of tobacco, even though it was still Marlboro or whatever, they used different tobacco grades or B grade. If you notice too the filters are different, they have a yellowish tint down there.
They are harsher for sure. Was hoping to stay away from them this year. Maybe I will snoop around a bit and see if I can find something online aboutrolling/bringing your own..
By far the easiest thong to do would be to buy a couple of cartons in duty free before you go, simple quick and no chance of getting a tub of tobacco confused for pot or some other drug smuggling plan
