Some very nice pictures! I keep flipping the idea in my head of doing Cabo instead of Cancun one of these days so I was interested in seeing what it looked like!

    here ya keith

having been to cabo before (and promising back then that i would never go to cacnun) and missing it - was a no brainer for me to go when t suggested it this time

had i never been to cabo and all then the decision would have been more difficult for me but i know t and she will love the atmosphere in cabo just as much as cancun if not more

change is not a bad thing ya know?

i mean i love to eat steak but lobster is pretty damn good too :)

i think the web ate my last reply... apologies if this shows up more than once.

in cancun, when you show up, staff try to get you to buy into their timeshare. and you can get reasonably good deals on excursions from the guys at the pool hut. are there any tips like this a first-timer to cab should be aware of?

We got an excusion (transporation to and a glass bottom boat) to the Arches which are about 20 miles away from a vendor at the "Mega" store across the street. We negociated a price of $15 per person. At the resort, the people selling the trips would go down to $28 per person. Go to the Mega and just on the exit side of the checkouts, look for the guys in the super bright orange shirts to hook you up. Don't let them hose you and pay more than $15 pp for this.

Also, when it was time to come back, we had 6 people in a van and again negiogiated a $5 per person ride back to the reosrt from the arches area.

The timeshare people will give you a $100 soa credit to listen to thier spiel. Now, eat breakfast/lunch BEFORE your go see them otherwise you add another 45 minutes. Just say now several times and then go do the couples sensual message in the Spa. SO DAMN WORTH THE EXTRA $100 + the Spa credit. TRUST ALL OF US WHO DID IT!

    And finally, have fun!

One other money saving fact. Taxis are not generally allowed to pick up at the airport to take you to the hotels. So, book the cheapest private ONE-WAY transfer you can find (usually $50-$60) for upto 5 people. We used
www.insideloscabos.com, but use whatever you want. These guys were awesome and fast.

Do NOT book the Round trip private transfer option for another $50-$60 pp), taxis from the hotel to the airport is only $25 for upto 5 people back. For another $5, you can take the toll road which is about 15 minutes faster.

Immigration and the baggage claim areas are 10x's faster than Cancun's airport. Much smaller = mucho beuno!
