Anyone ever done the timeshare deal where you can get 4 nights for $399 if you sit through their 90 minute presentation? How awful is it and is it worth what you save? As I lawyer, I am ALWAYS skeptical of these "deals".

    Thanks!

    Timeshare

This is the David half of david and Rhonda. That's how we booked our trip on March 4 (tomorrow). What I just found out was they have us scheduled for an 8:30 am appointment on Saturday and I already put 2 deposits on Steve's Boobs Cruise. I emailed the resort asking to reschedule the showing for Sunday but no response yet. I understand if you don't listen to their presentation they add about $1000 to your credit card for the room rate. It's supposed to be 90 minutes but I've heard stories that after 3 hours they were still trying to hold people and pressure them. I'm carrying my documentation that says 90 minutes and walking out at the 90 minute mark finished or not. Hopefully this won't be an issue or a downer on the trip.

    It is a good deal.
People have posted they left after two hours with no repercussions.
Read the fine print, there are pre-existing financial minimums you must meet.
There are some black out periods.
air fairs are usually cheaper if you book on a 7 day cycle depending where your flying from. You can book extra days with the hotel.

    See you there

    I always do- it's my job! :)

We fly for free so long as there is one open seat on the plane for me ("FO" of "FOandJD" stands for First Officer- he's a pilot, so we get free travel). That's why this deal interest me because we have the chance to get a HECK of a good deal with the free flight and huge discount on the hotel if we sit and listen to someone blah, blah, blah for a bit!

I booked through one of those too. It was a lot cheaper. They also let me book for more days, I booked 7 nights with them, that was the max, and then 2 other nights through somewhere else. I say go for it, especially with the free airfare!

I WISH we could come in May, but vaca is scheduled with his work Mar 20-30, so it will be during that time IF we can get on a flight. I have been drinking out of my Cancun coffee mug that looks like a Mayan guy for good luck for MONTHS now that this will all come together!

Thanks for all the feedback! I tuned out law professors for three years- I think I can tune out a timeshare presentation for less than 2 hours. Especially if I am as hungover as I plan on being! :D

We'll plan on seeing you at the Sexy Pool then on the 20th~!! We've sat through the timeshare presentation--several times--purchased once back when it was a good deal. Pretty good savings for 90 minutes of your time, I'd say!!

Several of us here have posted on the T/s gig lately.

Well worth the two hours for the savings involved, just hold the t/s agent to the 90-120min time frame. Some of those people push hard. :aktion060: Our guy was a pita; we held our ground and finally got up to leave at 130 minutes.
