Honestly I thought the clamps they use before the piercing hurt worse than the needles. I ripped one out in a tragic shower door accident... so I no longer have mine... But just be brave!! It's not that bad! And I've heard it hurts worse on guys than girls because they usually have smaller nipples (more concentrated nerves) But... Plus side, 2-3 weeks after you do it or so, your nipples will be sooo delightfully sensitive you won't stop playing with them =) Haha
I can attest to the fact that it hurts like hell on a guy...but it is a short lived pain (the actuall piercing itself). Just make sure to follow the cleansing / moving the ring instructions you get. AND avoid anything they can catch on for the first little bit (like sweaters) or roofing shingles in the case of my naval ring. Scott

When I did mine I had both. I had two piercers and they were done at the same time. Getting them done is one thing but walking around for a month soar after is another thing all together. I have a good pain tolerance but every now and then I would hit them and wow the pain. Take advil before getting them pierced. Don't get me wrong I did love the look. I also miss the look of an incredible hard nipple. My nipples still get hard just not the same as before they were pierced the sensitivity just is not the same.
I have a prt of the lower male body pierced. It didnt hurt, but the bloody healing hurt like hell, and Im no wimp (Viet Vet). The solution was to swim everyday in salt water. Pain went within 48hrs. Now after 10 years still no prob. My navel piercing didnt hurt at all at any time. Kayel
