One day home from another awesome vacation to TTR. This is the first time that I am not having to detox too much as I contracted a virus which made it's debut on day 2. Tom is working on resting before work tomorrow.

Day one - checked in around 11:30. We were told our room was not ready although two couples on each side of me were getting their rooms. The last couple years we have been spoiled by getting our room right away. I asked if she was sure that our room was not ready and they said that 2202 was ready. I said yes, even though I knew exactly where it was located. I just like changing and getting the party started without the worry of trying to remember to get back to the desk around 3. Anyway, took the room straight up the stairs from Paty O's and headed out to party. It did not take long at all to find many Cancun Care members as many of us came in on the same day at the same time. Many introduced themselves to me which was really nice as I am shy. :aktion014: We drank, swam, enjoyed the perfect weather and primed ourselves for school girl night. Headed for a siesta around 5 and thank goodness friends knocked on our door as we probably would have slept through the fun night (early am flight). I dressed up and we headed out without stopping for dinner (mistake). Met so many people, went to the show, friends filled us in on a few details since this time was a blur...went to Paty 'O's afterward which is more clear...great night!

Day 2 - woke up and could not breathe....damn, I had a cold. My Pharmacist hubby found some cold meds in the gift shop.

The rest of the pool days were the same except for Friday when things seemed a little boring. I said, "body shots" and away we went to the bar. We brought the excitement level up a notch when Pedro said it was clear to hop up. I just wish "Billy Idol" would have put his damn camera away. Things would be more fun without all the cameras but enough about that.

lingerie night was so much fun. It started out lame but perked up. They called for girls for the lingerie contest. I went not knowing what to expect (which is the only way I do contests at TTR). I made it into the finals only to be told I would have to get on the pole...what! Anyway, lost to an awesome dude in lingerie that worked the pole like no other. Met some more Cancun Care members this night, as well.

Friday was a fun day at the pool. My cold kept me from drinking much as I felt at this point like my head was going to explode. It wasn't stopping the hubby though. This was the night that after a stop at the buffet that he was not getting up after his nap. This was white night/glow night and I dressed up and went out with friends. I was out for 10 minutes...feeling like a 5th wheel and went to bed, though I was not ready. This was the night that I did not like room 2202. Sober with loud music and going to bed early..not good. A friend gave me some cold medicine with psuedoephedrine in it and it kept me up all night...boom, boom, boom, boom.......

Saturday night was the pool party. This night was windy and I thought it would be too cold to go out by the pool. Dancing was so much fun. We met more people who joined us dancing because we were the only group dancing. It was not cold, in fact it became very hot and sweaty. Stayed up for some cheeseburgers and dogs...hit the sack late and sober.

Sunday morning...OMG...I could not talk when I woke up. I was coughing, my throat hurt so I stayed in room resting and drinking water until about 10. This day was pretty mellow as was the night. Hubby drank and was funny. He hates wet shorts so when he was done in the pool, he wrapped a towel around him and took them off. Many people saw and had a good laugh. I did not find him as funny but I did not feel well. It was unfortunately an early night...Tom was done after dinner and we had an early flight.

It was a great trip. We made some more life long friends. For me getting sick, it was not ideal but I refused to let it ruin my vacation. I am still pretty ill and I have a 14 hour workday tomorrow..yea...not!

So for all of those that we met and got to hang out with....thanks for a great time. A few names I remember....Mike, Michelle, Jeff, Janet, Joyce, Troy, Jeff, Jayna, Ben, Cheryl, Dave, Audrey, Mike from London, Maryland, Kentucky, Texas, Canada, California.

Great report, so sorry to hear you were sick, I know the feeling, but we were there for 2 weeks so 2days down isn't as bad.
Glad to hear over all you had a good time.

The weather was amazing. Bring plenty of sunblock/sunscreen. Each day was sunny and beautiful. Best trip for weather in a few years.

The reveal? He loved it...a lot. He wanted me to wear it all the time. I wanted to be comfortable. Plus, I only bought one boring black one. I have a feeling that he will be ordering some for me next year. :)

We had a great time with you, Jeff and Janet. I wish I could say that I partied Iowa proud this time as I did last year. There is always next year!

Thank you so much! I am a tad worried. It is day 7 and I still feel awful. I will wait until next week and if I don't feel better, go see a doctor.

I was slightly worried about passing around germs as I am not sure how well those pool cups are washed out. Many times a vodka/soda tasted like bananas.

Get you some zinc lozenges. There suppose to help with cold symptoms, and shorten the duration. Also yogurt, it strengths your immune systems. Ha Ha about the pool cups! There's so much alcohol flowing it's got to kill the bugs that might be hanging around.

Several of us that attended around Feb 17th , 18th got that bug! I had it two days at TTR. One gal from England had it horrible...felt very sorry for her.
I washed my hands constantly....thought about germs every time I grabbed a food spoon at the buffet. Not much to do but try to keep the hands clean.
Overall, it took me about nine days to get over it. Wife never got it at all.
Glad you made the most of your trip in spite of the bug!
