you might be struggling to join the mile high club on a thomson flight, there is only just enough room in the loo for one LOL

i forgot about noise cancelling headphones, you don't have to go to the expense of bose ones if you are only going to use them once a year, we have a set of jabra c820's each which you can usually pick up off ebay brand new for about 25 quid a set, sometimes less if there is an auction on, and the quality is very good

I fly 2 to 5 times a month so I like the more expensive ones. But yeah any good earphones help a bunch.

We have done this trip on numerous occasions now, we fly out of Gatwick so not quite as far. We are also flying Thompson premium this year, after the 'never again' experience with Thomas Cook last year. We take audio books, watch a film, have a few drinks, the time goes very quickly. I also take one of the inflatable neck pillows, the pillows given out on the flight just doesn't really give a lot of support. Walk round the plane a few times, we have travel socks that are meant to help DVT. We then keep partying when we get there 'till about 1- 2 am! It's got to be done!! It's the overnight flight on the way home that does me!!!

Hey thanks for all the replies. We got to reserve our seats today and got just the ones we wanted ;)
Nancy's taking sleeping tablets with her, the rest of us are gonna depend on alcohol to dull the pain :D
Into the last 2 months wait now, it's getting closer folks :cheerleaders:

I slept all the way home from Jamaica..........two flights 10 hours and I always sleep coming home from Cancun. I suggest just get piss all for sleep 3-4 days before and it will come easy.

So far the longest flight we've been on has been 4:30 so after our short connecting flight, the Gatwick - Cancun flight is gonna seem like one long haul! Aw well, plenty of alcohol, a film or two and a good book should ease the pain a bit. But most importantly, the excitement of our first time in Cancun!!:clappyinghappy:

It'll be the flight home that'll suck though....

I wish I'd read this earlier - I forgot that we could book our seats on Saturday so have only just done it!!:banghead::banghead:

After our discussions about preferred seats we can't get window seats and won't even be sat together on the way out!:banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead:

I'm not sure I will survive the flight as I love watching the world go by and taking photos on the way up and down!
