TJ: I only spend 50 pesos/month, and it usually seems to end on pretty much the same day each month. Have gotten some weird texts, but I have never answered any. A former neighbor answered one, and she got stuck with a "subscription" of some sort, for over 8 weeks... She bought a new chip just to get rid of the crap. Hope your stuff gets solved asap.
What can you get for 50 pesos per month, Rawkus? I spend about 500 pesos per month, buying one 500 peso recharge, and I don't feel I use the phone, much. I make an average of three, short calls a day.
V: Mostly use it for texting and very short calls. Most friends I stay in touch with over the web, so Skype etc.
We also only use 50 pesos a month and we rarely use all the time so I have no idea how many minutes that gets us. We only text and rarely call - like maybe 5 times a month? Calls are 4 pesos/min and txts are 1. I think we get 100+ minutes for 50 pesos? The time freezes after a month but you just need to add another 50 pesos and it keeps rolling. I think we have around $300 on one phone. We have 1 for each of us (adults) and one for the teenager going to school in town (we're about 12 km from town and we drive and pick him up)
I haven't liked how much having/using my cellphone has been costing, just took it for granted that, if I wanted to use one, it would be expensive. Now, I have to consider where the value of the recharge may actually be going, if not to my intended use.
V, don't forget when you buy the $500 Amigo card, you get $900 in credit. So while you may be spending $500 per month you are also spending $900 from a different point of view. I think today or tomorrow I will prepare my "package" for Profeco and go to Telcel on Monday waving it around like a loaded gun. LOL. Hopefully this attempt to get Telcel to do the right thing will be a "bloodless coup".
