I think Steve would be wise to take a small deposit also (like on the boobs cruises)... That will somehow secure numbers.

And beside that nothing speaks against bringing people from your resort that night. The more the merrier!

 

This is why it's difficult for Steve, as he must coordinate with the location and if the numbers lean too far to one side, he gets screwed.

 

Let's do a second round of reconfirm the week before. That should filter out some flaky ones.

Is there anything included with this party? Is there a cover charge or is it buyn your own way. If thats the case I dont think theres a reason to take a cover.

 

You pay Steve when you arrive, he pays the location, and we get drinks all night

 

To be more clear. There is no cover. Usually, Steve will reserve the back section of Carlos and Charles. So go Carlos and Charles and ask for the Cancuncare party and the hostess will point you to the back of the restaurant. You pay a fixed price for the open bar wristband once you get to the back section where the party is (ie not with the hostess at front). Last year, we paid the waiter, not Steve, for the wristband. If you are not sure, go find Steve at the party and ask him who/where you should get the wristband from.

 

And considering Steve does such an awesome job on this party, it's to everyone's benefit to be realistic on whether you're going to show or not. No reason to flake out and let Steve get screwed in any way. This party was definitely the highlight for me in 2009, and I anxiously look forward to it again. It'll be nice to finally put faces with everyone's names I've seen for the past two years.....and get steveo85 plastered again.

 

I have nothing but positive things to say about the CC party. I went in 08 and that was the beginning of my best holiday to date. As i went solo it was like i instantly had a group to roll with it. Everybody on the boards saw me for the first time, i remember someone handing me a yard cup, spence dancing on the bar absolutely wasted, kristi and donna dancining on the bar. Crazy times.

More importantly you will make friends from different places in the world. I have been to NY and stayed at BC's place and jason has stayed with me in london and with shauny in peterborough.

Some people will forget, some will be pre-occupied and some just won't show. But those who will, it will be the beginning of a good night.

 

I've been to more than a few CC parties - easily the highlight of the trip. You meet people you've been talking to on here for weeks / months.. and get wasted for next to nothing! And if history is any indication, Steve's wife will be pouring bottles of tequilla down your all evening.

I dont think I've ever left a CC party not blacked out.

So to the newbies... if you're sayin your gonna go.. go. It's a great time and you don't wanna screw steve over.
