Wow k so now I am confused. You went to the Dr for what and got Prozac. Dr Agopsowicz in the southside is a good Dr who is still taking patients if you want a second opinion. Deb just come in April and we will drink that depression away. Kidding aside she is a good Dr. she is at Dominion Health Centre.

And I thought it was only in the US that drs. were lazy. It seems to me that Prozac is the answer to anything that ails you when you go to an OB/GYN these days. You've got pms cramps-prozac, pms water retention-prozac. I've always had both of these and usually take Anaprox(basically Aleve) but it stopped working as well and I had to take even more to stop the cramps. So I mentioned it during a checkup. The dr. just wrote a RX and handed it to me and said this will take care of the cramps. I looked at it and said prozac?(she wrote it for the generic). She said oh, it works for everything. I went to a couple pharmacists and asked them if they thought it was a good idea. They almost laughed and said no.. Never took it, just take more Aleve.
Anyhow, I'd insist on bloodwork although it can be difficult to find hormonal problems. I think I'd see someone else like an Endocrinologist(sp?).

God I can't respect a Dr. like that. The drug Prozac has so many negative side affects. Excercise does wonders for balancing hormones.

There is also bio indentical hormones. Partydoll is right it's about three tubes of blood. I do it all day long on women. Bio Indentical hormones they will do the blood work first and then prescribe what your body is not making. It is a creme that your rub on and and helps balance you personal hormonal levels. HRT does increase your risk for breast, cervical and uterine cancers.

The OB/GNY practice I go to(or used to) is large(10 drs.) and close to home. Many of my neighbors go there. Most of them are 40-50. They've written it up for almost everyone I know that goes there. It's either Prozac or birth control pills. The remedy for anything.
From what I understand, if you are premenopausal, your hormones can change hourly.

so I am going to take my own advise and get this thread back to talking about Exercise.. hahaha!!.. I got a good hour in last night .. and the SCALE weight is moving already from 4 days in JC.. lost 2 lbs since Sunday..its not just water.. cause the calorie amount is the same as i have been doing since the first of Jan.. I think the difference is the carbs and fat and fiber and protine are measured more closely than I was doing .. ..

guess i should say in total.. since Jan 1st I have lost 9 lbs and gained Muscle that I lost on the Dr. B diet..you have to remember that i had NO Muscle tone what so ever after that stupid diet.. and now I actually see some .. lol

    That's great, Kim! Congratulations!

My scale is stuck! I thought that with eliminating my junk food habit that I would drop a few pounds, it hasn't happened. I'm back to pretty much normal workouts at the gym. This may just be the way I'm supposed to be. It could be alot worse at my age, so I will be happy if my current situation stays the same.
Sometimes I think women in general are way too hard on themselves! Do men do this crap?:bash:
