What's your favorite thing about Golden Parnassus?

Well, since I am a Golden newbie ... I just thought that I would start a thread to see what everyone likes most about the Golden Paranssus! I would love to hear tips, and or must-do's for our stay. Plus, I just love to hear stories of this place! I am seriously obsessed with everything Golden!

1. The bartending Staff! (carlos, fonzi, moises and Jose) And Rae at Aquaworld
2. Small hotel....therefore you get to know most people in the resort and usually stay friends with them. and most i will meet in many many years im going back (thats why i go every St Patty's week)
3. Restaurants. no reservation in ala carte restaurant. and Pier 12 has great seafood!
4. Staff always likes me there and always helps out.
5. Met the owner and reallllly nice easy going guy.
6. Entertainment staff.....they are ok, but not as good as my old OASIS PLAYA entertainment staff.
7. AGE crowd. no teeny boopers therefore, not getting worried on going to jail LOL jk (i like partying with older people. im 29)


honestly, to sum it up...bartenders will always make you feel at home and also they people that goes there!

 

PS: next year, you should try going mid march. ive been to cancun in july, august, sept....and nothing can beat MARCH crowd.

last year, i was at GP in march then again in Aug. it wasnt even close at all. it was almost like a ghost town in august.

 

Ever been there mid to the end of May? That's when I am going...

 

not in May but from what fonzi told me, its still rocking though. just different crowd

 

The Golden Parnassus......can only say we love it ! - I am as we speak getting ready to book our fourth trip - we keep saying we should try other resorts, but why ? When you have found something great why take a chance on something else:daveandmo:

I am on TA every day and now have found Cancuncare to add to my list......our favorite thing about it ? too much to mention but we LOVE the smallness, the people are amazing......it actually feels like our second home ! great place to relax.....cant beat the beach, its awesome !

 

I agree with all of the above. The thing about GP is one week it is overly conservative and the next week you have some real party people. We have been to TTR several times as well as the GP.

Our first two years about 30%-40% topless and lots of people at the tiki bar at night. Other years I owned the tiki bar at night. I think the nicer the weather the better the evening crowd at the tiki bar.

March 1st - here we come.

4) Great customer service
5) No kids
6) Entertainment staff

8) Affordability; good value for the price
9) No kids
10) Nice beach (relatively speaking)
11) No kids
12) Good variety of restaurants, none of which require reservations
13) Nice rooms, balconies, views
14) No kids
15) Good pool scene
16) No kids
17) Central location in the Hotel Zone; not far from anything
18) No kids
19) Laid-back "adult" vibe with liberal toplessness (varies from week to week)
20) Did I mention "no kids"?

Well atleast we know that you guys will be there to party atleast 1 night while we are there, so the tiki bar will be rockin with atleast 4 that night.....lol......It will drive me nuts if we get there on a week with no one partying........
