yes... I agree not cardio alone.. and i am still doing my bells .. lol but I have to say that i am not happy with my size.. lol its just i know what weight I have to be to be the size i want to be... hahah and the scale is all i have to measure because i didn't measure myself in the beginning ..
I'm just wondering... how would you do cardio without using muscle? lol I used to get pretty lean just running or cycling and watching my diet. I used to think weights were just for building pecs (sp?) and biceps. I stayed away from them 'cause I was going for more the "rock star" look...lol. In recent years I have learned that weight lifting can also be beneficial for weight loss (or fat burning) , as well.
mmhhmm you really are if people can understand what you are saying after a dozen tequila... haha!!!:xyxthumbs:
well partydoll if we got you to the size u wanted but the scale said u were 12 lb heavier than u started would that matter?
Brewster, how much muscle do u think you are using on the bike or treadmill? You are right there is some cals burnt while churning but really there is an enzymatic pathway that kicks in by the 40 min mark that actually starts to burn muscle in place of fat. With strength training you activate more and eventually build bigger muscle cells. These cells need energy all day long hence they burn cals all day. They will eventually weigh more than the fat they replace but they do it in roughly 1/7th the space. This means a size change but NOT always a scale change. Early on it will be scale and size to the good but the scale will reverse eventually. The bells that Kim is using if done correctly combine aerobic with strength giving 2 bangs for the same buck.
Interesting....I was on a generic thyroid medicine for a while, but my levels got worse. So the Dr. raised the dose, and I told him I wanted sythroid instead. I've been told that a lot of people don't do well on the generic. Been on the same dose for quite some time, and have my levels checked and they are within range. My husband says I need to see another dr. cause if he worked out as hard as I do, he'd be loosing all kinds of weight.
Your right, I shouldn't be hung up on the number on the scale. I don't know, with all this working out I want it to move. My husband says if he worked out as hard as I do, he'd be loosing all kinds of weight.
