I would suggest NOT to be involved in a fight. I saw one in Congo Bar and in about 3 minutes police was there and they weren't polite at all. You get in the pickup of a truck (with handcuffs) just like a dog, and in front of everybody.
Buses Taking the bus is a great idea during the day and to the clubs but I would suggest taking a cab on the way home from the clubs.
If your staying in the hotel zone only take a cab if you get lucky. I promise you the buses are safe even though they drive crazy lol. The only annoying thing is all those drunk arse people shouting and singing on the buses, but it is SB.
I take a cab everywhere in Cancun especially after a long night of drinking. If you speak spanish you can haggle these drivers down to 1/2 their asking price i just tip them anyways.
That's what I heard too, that drugs are illegal down there. Police may turn a blind eye if you're a tourist but it's definitely not legal. You could get busted just for having k2 incense on your possession. A Mexican jail wouldn't be fun... no.
Im from BC too and i blazed once or twice down there. at the hotel. one of the bartenders were stoked on it. but we did ask first to make sure and it was out doors at night so we were the only ones there. just be smart about it.
im def dont wanna get into any crazy trouble out there....specially when your not in your country sucks!! here in ny i can get away with anything "legal" lol in mexico they can probably cut my head off!
