Again i don't make money off this deal im just putting it out there.

Also be aware of the ongoing legal debacle that may or may not leave people without rooms

Thanks Nuno, that's a great price.

Would you recommend Grand Be Live over Be Live?

I've read the below (dated in Jan 2009), and the only negative for Grand Be Live appears to be that there may be issues bringing people from Be Live to your room (in Grand Be Live).

Are there any other differences? Are there generally more people staying at Be Live?

    Ok heres the breakdown

The Grand is supposed to be a 5 star hotel but its really a 3 star. The regular Oasis is supposed to be a 4 star but truly a 2 star. The Grand oasis is usually in the pyramid in the middle of the property but i believe there is always grand rooms in phase 1/2 on the upper levels. Depending on where they place you depends on if u can bring girls into your room. It was pretty easy to make the black/gold grand oasis bracelets but now we dont know the practices.

The rooms are nicer in the grand but u cant bring back regular oasis girls into your room unless you slip the guy some money. The food isnt that much better you get access to 2-3 other restaurants and the grand oasis lobby bar which is usually pretty dead but good drink service.

Less people stay in the grand because of the added cost. If you are gonna pay that cost you can easily afford another hotel like the Omni or the Melia. In years past the Grand Oasis price was similar to the Ritz Carlton i kid you not.

Yeah, Grand also includes the top floor of Phase 1 and 2. You can bring girls who are staying at regular Oasis back there no problem but the rooms are just shitty as the regular Oasis rooms. The Grand rooms in Pyramid are nicer but you will have to bribe the security to get girls staying at regular Oasis in. Girls who are not staying at Oasis, you will have to bribe a lot of securities.

Grand restaurants are much better. And not having to wait ridiculously long at the bar is a plus too.

Omni is nicer but not necessarily more expensive. I paid $80/night for my own room. I can bring whoever I want back. :)

Appreciate the response. A few of our mates have booked at Be Live Cancun so we're looking to stay there. Do you think it will still be the best place to be in terms of a party atmosphere or will the legal issues mean that sonewhere else may be more popular?

According to our CC resident in Cancun who just spoke to Gran Caribe management, it doesn't seem like GC is going to be very happy with the spring break antics at their family hotel. My guess is student city will try to start the season at both hotels but then get shut down at GC and move back Oasis. Just a feeling.

Henry, you've been to Cancun a few times. What was your reason for going with Omni and not Oasis? Sorry for the questions, just trying to be as informed as possible before choosing!

Are you stayin at Omni because of the better rooms, food etc. and then getting day passes to Oasis? Or are the day parties overrated?
