we have several pics of jellyfish in the shallow water right by TTR.... as for isla mujeres, to each their own....i was unimpressed, although we did eat at a very good restaurant while there.....we arent much for the haggling and market type situations
We have gone over on a day trip booked at the resort and thru Steve's Boozecruise booked via this website...both had snorkeling, lunch and a little time to shop or do whatever on Isla. The snorkeling spot and lunch Steve did we thought was better...just did his last year. We have talked about going via ferry and renting the golf carts but have not ever done that. It is an easy walk from the docks straight across to see the other side of the island which was neat to see. If you go with a cruise, it is all day but the snorkeling will be better... If you go on a ferry....you pick your time there. Have fun!
and yet another reason to stay in the sexy pool... but as far as going to isla... we've done both the ferry as well as the party catamaran (both Steve's as well as the the one from TTR). Each has their advantages. If you want to see more of Isla, do the golf cart, shop, etc... take the ferry. If you want a fun party time but still do a bit of shopping- then by all means take the cat. If Steve has a booze cruise planned the week you're there, then you definitely can't miss that!
Or come on the cancuncare booze cruise where open bar at lunch is included AND the reef tax which is normally another $6 on top.
A day on the island is always a part of our trips, rent a golf cart, see the entire island and spend an afternoon on Playa Norte!!
I'm so pumped that we were able to get a Booze Cruise organized for Jan 26th!! Definitely the best way to see Isla Mujeres!!!
