Does anyone know where I can go to get my feet looked at by someone that knows what they are talking about? I have a problem in that whenever I rest (sitting or lying) for more than 30 mins, when I get up, I can barely walk for a couple of minutes. Right at the back of my feet, just above the heel about two inches up, in one particular spot, it feels like the bone is bruised and it's agony to touch it at any time. It is exactly the same for both feet.

If anyone has any ideas on where I can go or what it might be, I would be very grateful as it seems to be getting worse and it's been there for months now.

If it's the same in both legs and occurs at exactly the same time then goes away it's not going to be a bone or muscular problem, possibly something to do with poor circulation - so maybe get it checked out with a vascular surgeon.
(Please take my 'diagnosis' for what it's worth - i.e. not very much!)

If it were me, I would make an appointment at Galenia and go asap. They have specialists as well as GP's.

Thanks for the advice. Jim, you don't have any money off coupons for Galenia by any chance, say 90% discount? ;-)

There are foot clinics around town, one at Soriana that I my hubby has used, might be a place to start. I use salud.com on Uxmal near Yaxchilan for medical now (covered by the company), the osteopath there is fantastic, his name is Dr. Jorge Ruiz and I believe his rate is 400 pesos for the consult. I can give you his number via PM if you like, he could set you on the right path at least.

Not being sarcastic but how much is walking worth to you? I also don't spend much money on my health as a general rule but when it comes to something important, I do. I guess I figure I'm worth it. Maybe the option that CC proposes would be a good place to start. Good luck.

Fair point Jim, there should be no price on walking. Spending money on health is hard to accept when your used to it being free, it's just one of those things you have to realise that it's too important not to I suppose.

Eating a lot of seafood? Gout is also another thing that will take your feet out from under you. Its usually your big toe that is affected, but it can affect other areas.

    Sam,

I've gone to the ER at Galenia a few times and the going rate for locals (for a consultation...no meds) is around $385 MXN, I believe. Hospiten is about the same price.

I have horrible foot pain too so, if you find a good doc, please let us all know. Good luck!
