Is going topless acceptable at the pool or only at the beach? We are going in March for Spring Break and previously have stayed at family type resorts in Cancun but, did not want to be in a situation with a ton of partying college students. What is the average age of vacationers at the G.P.?
Yes!!! Some weeks you will have a lot o company, other weeks not much but a few on the beach. Be a leader!! Have fun.
The week we were there, back in June '07, I'd say that the "topless" percentage around the pool was somewhere between 15 and 25 percent (some days closer to 15 percent, some days closer to one out of every four). We were in our early 50s/late 40s and I'd say we were probably among the older third; we met couples in their 20s and 30s, and plenty of folks in their 40s as well as a few in their upper 50s and beyond. The "average" age is probably right around 40, but it really didn't seem to matter much...you'll find that everyone "acts" the same age when they're on vacation. (Don't worry...you WON'T find yourself among a rowdy group of partying college kids...although sometimes late at night around the Tiki Bar the crowd might behave like they're still at a frat party, ha ha!)
We just came from there NOv 27, 2010, all I know is at Temptations, Topless is definately accepted around all 3 pools, and on the beach as well. Dont know about the GP, But if possible..... Enjoy it, us americans are so uptight about that kind of thing. I went topless everyday, and loved it! it just seems so natural, and relaxing. Have fun, show them "kids" that us more experienced ones know how to have fun! Trust me, after seein everyone topless, you will want to as well. Let your hair down! Have the time of your life! You know the saying... "when in rome, do what the romans do! " You will be glad you did.
It's hit and miss. One time half of the ladies will be topless and the next none. Just seems like it takes on brave lady to start the trend and the rest follow.
Flamingo Cancun Resort This place is really great for singles and couples. My favrite hotel is Flamingo Cancun. It is situated in the middle of the hotel zone on the beach, a few minutes from La Isla Shopping Mall.
LOL ... it will just take a couple brave souls mixed in with a lot of booze, and then I will def join in and be topless too! It would be my very first time ... so here's hopeing that I have some renagades during my stay at GP! LOL! - Stacey
