With the short time frame, we would never waste our valuable time that could be spent pool or ocean side listening to a talk. I see you guys are from Kansas- where do you fly out of? $800 would be almost half of our trip cost. At that much, we might be willing to burn a rainy late morning, but not afternoon Channel 12 time..lol

We live in Wichita and the flights aren't too terribly expensive to Cancun. We've flown out of KC before to save money, but then its a 2 1/2 hour drive home...not what I want to do after spending a week partying!
I think we are headed to Temptations the first week of April, 2011; we went the same time this past April and the weather was wonderful!

We looked at that as well because it would have saved us a bundle and while we know all about the time share stuff.. and can avoid it at the Airport and Resort by saying no thank you.. If you book on line for it you have to go, they will hound you.. and I also" heard" they could make you pay the difference if you dont go to the sales pitch.. .. I just dont think we would be strong enough.. haha!!

and make it one week later.. april 10 to join the april addicts!!!

We got a 'whale' of a deal on 6 nights by saying yes to a 90 minute presentation (we've several friends that have been and we researched the pros/cons of if this were a good deal or not). Because of that, we are willing to do this; however, as everyone has suggested, get out of the airport and to the resort. We avoid everything at the airport except who is taking us to the resort ... even the beers! This is a 1st trip to T for us; however, not to the 'fun' resorts.

I discovered last year that they are also at WalMart! They came up to me and asked how my visit to the store was as the stuff was getting packed up...I thought they were just a manager then I noticed the RCI tag around their neck...I said no thanks and went on my merry way.

I would pay an extra $2000 to make sure no one bugs me on my vacation...lol I don't want anything scheduled and definitely no pressure!

Frontier has really increased the number of directs from Mci and they are very reasonable. Understand not wanting to drive, only 45 min for us

Cancun has perfected the way to get the most dollars out of us as they can. I go on a boat ride they want to take your pic and sell it back to you. At Coco Bongos the same thing they took my pic and already had it printed up and try to sell it to me for $20. I take $100 in $1's just for tipping. Just add a few hundred more to your trip if you plan on leaving the resort.
