This will be our second trip to Temptations, and although I read alot of threads on avoiding the time share sales pitch, it would save us over $800 for our 5 night stay. Is it worth it?
$800 sounds like a lot and I recommend that you look around a little more for a better comparison rate. Make sure you include any fees that you will have to pay with the discounted trip. Most people say no to buying, however there are lots of disappointed timeshare owners.
I'm surprised that this being your second trip there is a presentation.. We were under the assumption that they couldn't approach you again.
Both... be sure when you get through customs get out of the airport.. do not stop and talk to anyone keep moving, once your outside your transportation will be there. Also at the resort if your new they will tell you they want to welcome you, show you around, breakfast meeting etc. This is a time share presentation. We didn't know any better and we went, we lost over 3/4 of our first day there at that presentation. And we almost bought.. Others have said they just didn't go.. for some reason we felt obligated to go.. not sure why now??
Got it! Excellent advice! Now I'm geared to walk towards the door at the Airport to my USA Transfers guy and directly to the Resort and NO breakfast meetings!
DO NOT TALK TO THE PEOPLE AT THE AIRPORT. GET THROUGH CUSTOMS AND GO OUTSIDE. ONE OF THE PEOPLE OUTSIDE WILL DIRECT YOU WHERE TO GO!!!!Watched a girl last time we were there pay a guy $50 bucks for her walk to the van she already paid for. The guy inside told her that her ride would cost $50 she questioned him and then paid him. The guy walked her 50 yards and dropped her at the same van we were getting into.
We didn't have any trouble at the airport in April, but we knew what to expect from reading all of the posts. Come to think of it, we weren't approached at the hotel either. I sure as hell don't want to spend my vacation time on a high pressure sales pitch, and lose part or most of a day that I could be soaking up sun and suds, so I think we'll pass on the "special offer". Thanks everyone for your input.
Good idea, every minute counts, they do feed you booze during these presentations which I found rather strange, how can a contract be legal when your half snapped. Anyways for us every second of every minute counts don't want to waste it.
