Sorry no one else has replied. Sorry even worse for your weather.!

Mexico - I haven't done much of anything but one trip to Cabo and many trips around the Yucatan. After just a little study of Mexico there is no question where I'd spend my time and money. Anywhere along the coast of Q.Roo would be great.

Costa Rica - The "new" Liberia airport is a great chance to explore the Pacific coast. I just loved the area, the people, the culture and the chance to explore everything from the beach to volcanos. Swamp crocodiles to jungle monkeys and tropical birds.

We have looked at Costa Rica. Never been and it seems tough to figure out.
Do you go for the jungle experience or the beach.

At this point either be nice. Continued snow showers here.

Well you guys beat me to the punch, I was going to say Costa Rica is where Ill be goin for a short time hopefully in 2011 after Cancun. I have a friend that has duel citizenship and has an apartment there, So it will be cheap enough, Also he says that since the area is so small you can just about every thing there is to see in a single trip... Im going for the Beach and to enjoy a place thats no so commercialized but also to check out the jungles and volcanos and stuff

I was actually going to start a thread to find a good (dont laugh) family resort in Cancun. I want to take our daughter and a friend some time in May and dont know the area too well. Was going to reach out to find someone on here to give us some advise on a well priced, nice place to take the kid (13yrs old)...

I know Temptations sister resort is for families, Blue Bay Club it used to be called, not sure if it still is, but I know its family oriented.. ive never been there so im not sure if its set up for young kids or kids of all ages, I also hear the Golden Paramnessus or however you spell that is good too. Steve would know, I have been asking that for a while now, and i have gotten some good responces.

Where the kids going to stay while you guys are at Temptations? :)

I've also stayed at the GR Solaris. I thought it was very nice.

We enjoy Puerto Vallarta. Your money goes a long way in that part of Mexico. It's also not so commercialized.

I'm partial to St. Martin and Aruba!
For a great AI resort in Cancun for families, try the RUI Cancun. My brother and wife just stayed there (Dec.) and I visited them there for a day. The hotel, staff, food, drinks, everything was great. The beach there is very tiny though. They loved it and are going to go back with their teenage kids in March.

I would not recommend the Blue Bay Club. Several years ago we visited it on the resort's free shuttle. It is way out there and the pool area is shaded, cramped etc... Just my opinion.

Another fun adult only is the Golden Parnassus, we are going March 1st, for one week. Much tamer but no reservations for restaurants and no kids, the number one vacation priority for our "just us vacation." We seem to alternate every other year to BBG and GP.

We went to a family resort in Cabo over spring break a few years ago, can't remember the name but it was nice but loaded with children. Five days was plenty.
